December 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm SunDawn. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Šar Mountains, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 22:50, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. StephenMacky1 (talk) 12:49, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Agon Latifi. I'll give you a chance to self-revert yourself on the Šar Mountains article. On Wikipedia, we go by sources. If a name is commonly used by sources, then we go by that name. To determine the common name on the English Wikipedia, we usually go by reliable English-language sources. Editorial opinions about what is the common name are completely irrelevant. StephenMacky1 (talk) 13:02, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry, but I do not believe that at all. First of all, it just doesn't make sense at all. Second of all, what sources are you talking about, could you give me an example of some? I hardly think that that is the case. The people around the mountain range are albanian speaking people that refer to the range as Sharr, not Šar. Plus the etymology of the name literally comes from albanian. Agon Latifi (talk) 13:09, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Vanjagenije (talk) 22:09, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • You were making a series of undiscussed edits and page moves, that are directly against established consensus. I had to block you temporarily. That is not how Wikipedia works. Kosovo is very sensitive topic and you should try to reach (or change) consensus BEFORE making contentious edits. Vanjagenije (talk) 22:14, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Rita Ora. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. I literally said it on the talk, no one replied with anything mate. What is this abomination? Why do we have to fall on agreement for such an obvious thing? She has two citizenships its british and kosovar, like, what? AgonShqiptari (talk) 18:47, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Clearly people don't agree with the change if you keep getting reverted. The WP:ONUS is on you to get other editors on board. EvergreenFir (talk) 18:53, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It doesnt matter whether they agree or not. Its a fact. It doesnt need other's opinions on it. Before she had kosovar citizenship, obviously she couldnt be stated as a kosovar, but now that she has acquired one, it shouldnt even be a discussion. And no people are not disagreeing with it, only a few, most of the days everything was frictionless. AgonShqiptari (talk) 18:55, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Wow great job mate. Stop letting me from editing for no reason and then afterwards refuse to elaborate and then boom block me? Very reasonable. Why do you not say anything on the talk page at all? Are you just abusing your power brother? I waited a full day for a response. I mentioned that the citizenship literally appears on the wikipedia page. So automatically without any discussion she should be called a british kosovar singer just like dua lipa is a british albanian singer. Such a distasteful unfair reaction by you. AgonShqiptari (talk) 17:16, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You were warned that you could be blocked if you continued edit warring. You have removed the note about WP:BLPLEAD multiple times which clearly says

The opening paragraph should usually provide context for the activities that made the person notable. In most modern-day cases, this will be the country, region, or territory, where the person is currently a citizen, national, or permanent resident; or, if the person is notable mainly for past events, where the person was a citizen, national, or permanent resident when the person became notable. (For guidance on historic place names versus modern-day one, see WP:Naming conventions (geographic names) § Use modern names.)
Ethnicity, religion, or sexuality should generally not be in the lead unless relevant to the subject's notability. Similarly, neither previous nationalities nor the country of birth should be mentioned in the lead unless relevant to the subject's notability.

EvergreenFir (talk) 20:05, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wait youre talking about that? Why didnt you just tell me that the problem was there? If that was the problem i wouldnt have removed it, it just seemt useless because when that was put there it was put in order to prevent people from mistakenly putting her ethnicity, before she got the kosovo citizenship, but now that she has acquired one, it seemt pointless thats why, i didnt really care about that. If thats the main problem then i apologize. But i simply didnt know because im a newbie here man. Im not trying to vandalize stuff im just trying to add useful information. Take it with a stride.
