Dear @SafariScribe: many thanks for your swift reaction. I think that the topic of the article meets criterion 5 of WP:ACADEMIC: the person was elected full professor (distinguished professorships and named chairs are not common in Germany) at a major German research university (U15 member), as confirmed by a renerenced university webpage, and being the only professor of Egyptology in Mainz is a chairholder.
