A tag has been placed on Template:AirportCodes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Request reason:

I cleaned up many Indian and Nepalese airport pages, replacing obsolete links with modern working links, only to have them reverted to the previous broken versions. On the Chennai page, for example, the current "official site" is obviously a nonofficial commercial site. My links to the official Indian AAI sites corresponding to each Indian airport were also deleted. Yet, no one has any issue with the GCM template, which links to an obsolete private site. Same with the WAD template -- also obsolete data. Nearly every airport page has the ASN template, which goes to a commercial site. All the US airport pages link out to several commercial sites, for example SkyVector. "AirportCodes" is about as neutral and current and valid as it can be. I hate to cry racism, but it's clear no one has cared about any of the "brown" airport pages for over 15 years, yet when I modernized them and deleted garbage links, then and only then did the admins take notice. "AirportCodeTempate" is about as overt of a username as I could create.

Decline reason:

None of this is remotely relevant to your block. Yamla (talk) 21:22, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
