I see that you've reverted my edits on the grounds of bad grammar. Could you please point out those instances? Well it just seems to me that you've simply reverted the edits and did not make any corrections at all concerning the grammar and construction.

And yes I am very well sure that my input is backed by sources. Actually, the current [the ones you've restored] are the ones which are not supported by correct sources. For instance, the history section cites the Ramon Magsaysay awards pages lots of times. But the page doesn't even mention anything concrete about the history of the university or at least something similar to it.

For example:

The following text is the one you've restored.

In 1946, the American Agricultural Mission to the Philippines urged the US to support the college’s experiment station. By 1950 the US Economic Survey Mission to the Philippines reechoed that recommendation, and a program headed by Cornell University was set up. 10 to 14 professors from different American universities would come and live on campus annually, bringing with them fresh ideas and knowledge of gains made in many fields. A number of younger Filipino faculty also went to Cornell and other US universities for graduate study. The program became so successful that the college began to receive major grants from prominent international organizations such as the Rockefeller Foundation, Council on Economic and Cultural Affairs, Committee for Free Asia and the Colombo Plan.

The Ramon Magsaysay page doesn't make any mention of such event. It is actually the source which I cited (Hilario's 100 Years) which makes of such claims.

You also removed the photos that I've included in the article. I do not see why they should be excluded given the fact that they do improve the reader's understanding of the article, and neither do these infringe copyright regulations. In fact most of them are in public domain.

You also removed this

|campus = 14,665 hectares (147 km²)

in favor of this

|campus = 14,665 hectares (147 km²) <br>university town, land grant university

Again, I do not see why the citation for the campus size should be removed, given that it's the actual proof that the size is actually 14,665 ha. I am well aware that UPLB has received several land grants. However that doesn't make it a land grant university per se. Their is no such classification under Philippine law. The only reason we see them in US universities articles is because the US actually has a law which defines what are land grant universities. The contribution of UPLB to the Los Banos community is indeed significant, however again we cannot put a classification that it is a university town given that it's not actually a town (this would be better put in the Los Banos article), and no evidence/source can be put forth that can support that it's actually classified as a university town.

So to cut it short, I am reverting your edits in favour of my edits. Your reason for reverting it has no clear basis.

Also, their is no need to remove the warning you've got from ClueBot about unproductive edits. Moray An Par (talk) 06:40, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

UPLB graduation

[edit]

Do you have any photos? It'll be much use in the article. A photo of a sea of students in toga while in their seats/procession would be preferable. Or anything that would fit the caption "UPLB graduates wear a black cap and gown[76] as opposed to the graduates of other UP constituents who wear the sablay.[77][78]". Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175

[edit]

Dear Ajesg,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,
