Edit summaries[edit]

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you. --Muchness 05:26, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Grumpy about wasting time[edit]

After spending the last 10 minutes or so coming to the conclusion that, no, you're not a sneaky vandal, I'd still let to share a viewpoint with you. There are many articles here which are daily and several-times-daily subject to vandalism, both overt and 'sneaky'. Many people have a random cross-section of articles on their watchlists, and check for "is it good" vs. "is it bad" when a page has been recently changed. Thus I came across your changes to Roman Catholic Church‎.

As far as I can tell, the edit was only changing all occurrences of more than one space to a single space. There are a number of edits which, done only for themselves, are a waste of resources. This is one of them. I am not above changing doubled spaces to single, when I am already editing an article because of a misspelling or some other problem. In fact, once at an article I try to fix everything I can see. I just have to hope that the number of other articles you've changed recently weren't just to correct using more than one space.

But as to my grumbling, and the previous comment by Muchness, please use edit summaries. It will help me to feel easy that I am not missing something that I will feel embarrassed about later. And will help to not waste other editors 'wondering' what that edit was about. (And I apologize for being grumpy) Shenme 06:45, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, by all means reduce double spaces to single ones, but out of courtesy let the rest of us know, through an edit summary, that this is what you have done. On the other hand, congratulations on noticing the missing "</ref>" in Eucharist (Catholic Church). Lima 07:40, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will also ask you that if for whatever reason you insist on removing multiple spaces, you comply with the above requests and do quick edit summaries (such as "rm dbl spc") dab (𒁳) 08:38, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Hi AjitPD, please start providing edit summaries for your edits. They are of great assistance to other editors, especially those checking recent changes for vandalism. You have already been asked several times now, as can be seen above. If you are having difficulty remembering to do so, you can have the software prompt you to enter one with each edit. Please go to the tab labelled "my preferences" above, then select "Editing" and then check the box marked "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". Thanks in advance for your cooperation in making other editors' tasks easier. --Seattle Skier (See talk tierS) 12:23, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, maybe AjitPD doesn't know how, and none of you have informed her/him how to do this. AjitPD, check the box below the editing box. I'm putting "Addition" in there now. When you check the "history" tab at the top, you'll see that in the summary at the end. And the rest of you, don't just be nice, be educational, too! Took me a while to figure that out myself!. Esseh 07:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Again, please use edit summaries for your edits. It helps people know what's going on with an article without having to look at the changes individually. Dismas|(talk) 12:49, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting this page[edit]

Sorry, but although user pages are normally deleted on request from the user, this does not generally apply to the user talk page. Mangojuicetalk 18:32, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Talk:Aurora Snow as to why I removed the so-called real name from the Aurora Snow article. And again, please add edit summaries when making changes to articles. Dismas|(talk) 17:42, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Porn stars of Egyptian Origin, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Porn stars of Egyptian Origin fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Per WP:NAME, "Heritage categories should not be used to record people based on deduction, inference, residence, surname, nor any partial derivation from one or more ancestors." Single article placed in this category was biographical, of a person who did not meet this criteria. Category unpopulated, delete.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Porn stars of Egyptian Origin, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 23:16, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please leave in spoiler warning[edit]

I realize I didn't do it right, but a spoiler warning is much needed in the entry for The Crying Game in "Nudity in Movies". If you know how to fix the warning, please do, but don't just remove it, all right? Korky Day 22:49, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Breaking Nina Mercedez with AWB[edit]

I don't know what you have set AWB to be doing, but please stop. It has turned the article into this: [1]. Please go over your other AWB edits and see if you have broken other articles, and if you have restore them. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:04, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at a few of your other edits, and couldn't find any others broken similarly, so it's not a pattern. Do take a look before saving, though. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:11, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removals on Shah Rukh Khan[edit]

Hi

Regarding this edit

You recently removed the actor's name in Nastaleeq script from the article. There was no explanation on the talk page, nor any explanation in the edit summary. Your unexplained removals were reverted. Feel free to start a discussion on the article talk page if you would like to remove the same again.

Happy editing,xC | 18:46, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained edits to Qawwali page[edit]

Can you please explain on Talk:Qawwali why you have repeatedly tried to remove that Hindi thing?

Thanks! --Sarabseth 01:41, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category, Infobox, and Script Removals[edit]

Hello AjitPD. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Recently, I have noted that you have removed a large amount of Urdu scripts and categories from Bollywood film articles. I am sure you were not aware that this issue was discussed in length here, among other places and it was decided that Urdu scripts etc. are indeed relevant in Bollywood film articles. It is helpful to understand the relationship between Hindi-Urdu and Bollywood when dealing with this subject area. Several Bollywood film covers that utilize Indian scripts give the two standard registers of Hindustani: Hindi and Urdu. You can take a look at some of these film covers yourself: Image:Awaaraposter.jpg, Image:Waqt 1965 film poster.JPG, Image:Sholayposter2.jpg, Image:Padosan film poster.jpg, etc. Other reasons are provided in the archives of Talk:Bollywood. I would highly appreciate if you could please undo your edits. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in the matter. With regards, AnupamTalk 03:57, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Despite my kind request above, you continue to remove scripts, categories, etc. Should continue with this behavior again, your abuse of AWB will be reported and your privileges will consequently be stripped by moderators. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. With regards, AnupamTalk 03:31, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
AjitPD, your contentious edits have already been discussed. Please take time to read the above information before making any more unilateral edits that go against a set consensus. Nevertheless, you are welcome to make comments on the Bollywood talk page or at WP:INCINE regarding the issue. Until a new policy is set, please do not violate the current standard. Thanks, AnupamTalk 20:44, 27 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

There is a discussion occuring here regarding nominations for an award counting as a sign of notability. As an active participant in WP:P*, your input is welcomed. Tabercil 15:57, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AWB edits[edit]

Hi - can you explain what you were changing in edits like this, please? AWB shouldn't really be used simply for cleanup, as such edits are generally a "waste". I've removed your name from the approval list pending your response. Thanks, Martinp23 00:28, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

Why the fuck I have been blocked? Who the hell is Szhaider? AjitPD (talk) 23:38, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
