Listen, UEFA rebranded the competition before the 1992-93 season, STOP moving articles against consensus and sources. chandler ··· 18:31, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The final IS in the competition

[edit]

Sorry, but the video link you posted even SHOWS the Champions League logo 1m 20 second in for example. Marseille celebrate after becoming the first team to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy[1]. Clearly the finals are not outside the competition, they are part of it. Therefore it is the final of the UEFA Champions League... And French language posters don't matter seeing as this is the English wikipedia. And the sources at UEFA indicate a name change. For example [2] there OM won the Champions League while Barca won the European Cup [3]. chandler ··· 22:12, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The finals are part of the season. They were rebranded as Champions League Finals, which can sort of be shown here [4] see reference to 1997 and 2009 being both Champions League and European Champion Clubs' Cup finals, but they're always going to be commonly known as UEFA Champions League finals from 1993 and forward. chandler ··· 22:27, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Still a matter of common name, and the finals were the finals of the 1992-93/1993-94 UEFA Champions League season. And as I said UEFA has since referred to the 2009 and 1997 finals as european cup finals even though they're not commonly known as that. chandler ··· 23:19, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Common name of the final. chandler ··· 00:04, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not it's not my personal opinion. 49,400 hits vs 6,110 hits for example shows some simple google stats... The finals is commonly known as the 1993 and 1994 UEFA Champions League Final chandler ··· 01:22, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You are so right, in 1993 and 1994 the official name of Final was "European Cup Final", not "UEFA Champions League", because they were broadcasted by EBU. --Stephan Sensuality (talk) 22:24, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
