I have just realized I could have answered directly here, before going via AfC. I would appreciate specifics. At this time, it is like trying to figure out what exactly went wrong in an exam by only looking at the mark, not terribly educational. So please: which reference(s) is/are NOT in-depth, reliable, secondary and independent. I believe I have provided those, and only added direct references when quoting directly the source, to substantiate what is being reported. Thanks. AlMad81 (talk) 15:15, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
BoardGameGeek doesn't look like a reliable source. Theroadislong (talk) 18:06, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would direct you to published entries for other board games where BoardGameGeek is listed as external links or references for game information. Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games
If BGG is not a reliable source by definition, then it should simply not be used anywhere. AlMad81 (talk) 18:14, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See other stuff exists you might be correct, it should simply not be used anywhere, I don't know. Theroadislong (talk) 18:18, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would certainly not accept a draft where the majority of sources were a forum. Theroadislong (talk) 18:24, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game AlMad81 (talk) 15:03, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And by the way, BGG is primarily an online database, forums are just one of its features (albeit the main one). If someone wants to find comprehensive information on a game, there are not many other sources on the net, and none can compete with BGG in terms of content. Board games do not usually appear on televised or written news, or other 'independent' sources outside the board gaming world - which is comparatively small.
I am very curious to know how these other titles ended up here: List of board games. AlMad81 (talk) 15:09, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
