"Brown Bailout" Article

Hey, I just read your comment on the Brown Bailout discussion page. Great job! I'll give it a final read tom. :) Mmm... this was my first *serious* article (with references and all.) I mean, it's often hard to know what to do/how to do it well on Wikipedia, so user interaction is the only way one can become better at contributing great content. That's one of the reasons why I am so happy this article worked out well (and fast): I definitely learned a lot! Thanks so much! Now it does seem like we have at least some in common (guitar, RHCP, politics, and... you edited the EuroTrip page!!!!  :) ). I'd be happy to work on another article with you. Any suggestions? First of all, my normal policy is to post replies on my own talk page, unless somebody requests otherwise, and assume people have added it to their watchlists. In case you haven't, I'll copy and paste this reply to yours as well. We certainly do have some in common. In addition to those, the philosophy and psychology aspect. Haha, yes I did edit eurotrip. I'm pretty sure it was something pretty minor that I added. Just trying to puff up the resume until I've got a lot of substantial edits and articles under my belt. I've been editing for a couple months now, but really just minor stuff, and didn't actually have a user account until last week. Anyway, this was my second article, and certainly the greater of the two undertakings (the first took me a grand total of like two hours). I would also enjoy working together again. My plan after this is to add to the actual page on Wikipedia a section on the criticism of Wikipedia. It's nothing major, there's already a pretty extensive article on it, so I'll probably just summarize that and put it on the wikipedia page. Feel free to help out. If you have any ideas on other articles, I'm certainly open to them. With an election coming up I'm sure there will be no shortage of articles to be written on politics. One final note: once we post the article in the main namespace, I was planning on putting my subpage on it up for deletion. Since you contributed heavily to the content and talk page there, I think etiquette calls for me to make sure that's cool with you if I do. I just can't imagine needing a subpage titled Brown Bailout after this, and I hate to waste the space on their servers. 1. I think your 'criticism of Wikipedia' idea is great--wonder why it's not in there yet. I'd be happy to help out.
2. I actually just had an idea for a new article: 'Chicago-style politics'. It's used a lot in politics today (most of the time by Rs, which makes sense), yet there is no Wikipedia article for it. Please let me know what you think.

Looks like we're both online, hah.

1. Great! It's easy to see that things get done a lot faster and better with a second set of eyes, no wonder the word collaboration is all over all the getting started pages on here. I think it's not there for the same reason we aren't posting our article as a section on the FedEx page, it just worked better as a standalone.
2. Yeah that sounds like a good idea. It could easily be linked back and forth from an article on corruption. And I have noticed that it's almost exclusively a republican buzzword, although I think it would be smart to be fair on this one.
3. Love that movie! I played guitar in a small-time band and we did an amazing cover of Scotty Doesn't Know. #So are you alright with me deleting the subpage after we move the article to the main namespace?
4. Finally, Is my page on your watchlist? Just want to know so I don't keep copying and pasting responses.

Criticism of Wikipedia

Hey there, have ya created a 'Criticism of Wikipedia section of the Wikipedia article' subpage yet? Not sure where to look... Btw, I used urban dictionary earlier today... and i got a brown bailout ad on the side! Yay!  :)

By the way, I forgot to mention that I love football too. Not College Football though. I mean... Ivy League football is not the most exciting thing ever (dont mean to make this sound pretentious, hope it wont be taken as such.) But man, the NFL is awesome. And the Dallas Cowboys are amazing. America's TEEEEEEAAAMM! :)

Well no, I don't think it's pretentious to say that the Ivy League isn't exciting football. And if you were referring to the fact that you're in an Ivy League school, I don't see that as pretentious either. I could be there, but I was a stone cold slacker (and somewhat of a stone cold stoner) in high school, and my transcript reflects that. I encourage you to go to a Penn State game sometime...it really is a religious experience, haha. Love the Big 10. As far as the NFL goes, I'm always a little ashamed to say I'm a Browns fan. Though it reflects well on me...because Browns fans all score very high in loyalty and dedication, because we lose all the time. And no, I haven't. I'll do it now though and post the link here. I think i'm just going to name the page something generic so that I don't have to keep deleting it. I'll post a link here.--Alang814 (talk) 06:29, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Awesome! Just a couple of points:

1. "Stone cold stoner"... I like it! (the phrase, not the activity) :)
2. Yes, I'd love to go to a College Football game. And yes, you should be ashamed, hehe.
3. Not cool that your paragraph on the FedEx article was delete. You did the right thing, I think--we'll figure what happened (or rather, why).
4. As for the criticism section of the Wikipedia article, do you intend to follow the structure of the criticism of Wikipedia article and just make it shorter (maybe one paragraph/section --> one sentence), or do you think a different structure might be better?

Well it wasn't even a paragraph...I had just added brown bailout to their list of ad campaigns. Seems pretty straight-forward non-vandalism. I undid it. It was an anonymous user, anyway.
