Some igloo bugs/questions/feedback

i found two bugs with igloo. If Igloo can't connect to igloonet it appears to get stuck in an infinite loop. the second one is that in chrome if you minimize igloo before it fully launches, it is only 3/4 of its intended size. I can post a screenshot of this bug if you want. my question was are rollbackers/autopatrolled users edits tagged non-vandalism. Finally my feedback is that I would appreciate it if in the history dropdown the usernames would link to the user's talk so you could see if they are a repetitive vandal. Thanks, --Kangaroopowah 20:58, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

As far as I'm aware, it's never actually stick in a loop - it does give up eventually, but it will try to reconnect for some time. I'll have a think about the minimise bug, but that's a tricky one because it's trying to fit itself to the window. Rollbackers are automatically added to the whilelist in most cases, as are users who fit a set of criteria. I'll take a look at your feedback as well, but igloo isn't currently being actively developed because I'm too busy. Ale_Jrbtalk 11:29, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, and what are the priority levels- 0.5, 0.1 etc. By the way since you aren't working on igloo you might want to let anyone edit it using <source lang=javascript> and incorporate the changes if they're good. Thanks, --Kangaroopowah 00:04, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
igloo uses priorities to order changes in the recent changes list. Anyone can view the igloo codebase: it's hosted on Wikipedia - see User:Ale_jrb/Scripts/igloo.js for the entry point. Ale_Jrbtalk 14:02, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, what I meant was let anyone edit a "dev" version so to speak so it can continue to get updates. --Kangaroopowah 03:35, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
If someone fixes something or adds something good, I'd be more than happy to edit it into the live version. Or, of course, anyone is free to fork it and create & use their own version, as long as it retains full attribution under the license terms. Ale_Jrbtalk 21:07, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Status check script

Since the upgrade to MW 1.18, your status check only works on userpages/subpages/user talk pages; it still appears on contrib pages, but it's incorrect on the contribution pages. HurricaneFan25 14:13, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

I'll take a look at this later; thanks for letting me know. Ale_Jrbtalk 19:01, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Technical Barnstar
For Igloo. It is the only tool known to me that can revert vandalism before ClueBotNG. Happy editing! pluma Ø 00:37, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks very much! :D Ale_Jrbtalk 00:38, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Igloo

Hey Ale,

I'm using Igloo and it keeps reverting when I don't what to revert edits. Is there a way I can cancel the reverting of an edit? Thanks. Hurricanefan24 (talk) 20:24, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Close the window really fast. Seriously though, just don't press the revert button if you don't want to revert... it doesn't do it because it feels like it, you have to press the button. Ale_Jrbtalk 21:04, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Compatibility

Hi,

Why isn't igloo compatible with safari?

Thanks,

Message I received from you

Hello, This is the first time I've accessed a talk page. I saw this message from you:

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Tom Gordon, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Ale_Jrbtalk 23:12, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Information.svg Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Tom Gordon. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Ale_Jrbtalk 23:15, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I can assure you I did not make any of these edits in 2009. Perhaps someone from this IP address did in the past, but I have never accessed those pages. OSS913 (talk) 01:01, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

I replied on your talk page. Ale_Jrbtalk 19:27, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
I went on huggle and after getting beaten by cluebot ng ten times I went to igloo where I reverted vandalism in peace :P. Kangaroopowah 18:52, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Igloo Bug/Questions

Found a small, hardly noticable bug. The full history link in the history preview doesn't work. Also what's the difference between the dev and regular version of igloo? Thanks, --Kangaroopowah 22:17, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

The dev version loads from a different location, so that I can do live tests without disruption. The view full history option should load the history into the tab or window that you used to launch igloo. If you've closed this tab, it won't work. Ale_Jrbtalk 22:56, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Ok that makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. Also I don't know if you saw it but why doesn't igloo work with safari? --Kangaroopowah 04:31, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
When I was developing igloo initially, Safari had a odd Javascript bug where it loaded pages in a random order, which was different from Firefox and Chrome where they were loaded correctly. This preventing it from connecting to the server and working. They may well have fixed this, but I don't currently have the time to find out and change it. Firefox and Chrome are both superior to Safari and work fine on macs, so take your pick and use that one. Ale_Jrbtalk 12:33, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, the makes sense. ALso shouldn't Igloo be in beta now since alot of the bugs are fixed :). --Kangaroopowah 01:22, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Problems with CSDhelper since Mediawiki 1.18 upgrade

Since the Mediawiki 1.18 "upgrade", I have had two problems with your invaluable CSDHelper script:

  • Using it to delete a page produces this alarming message, although the page is in fact deleted,
  • When viewing a page which has a speedy deletion template on it, the "Speedy" tab, which used to be to the right of the "Discussion" tab, now appears below it, obscuring the article title.

(Vector, Firefox 7.01) These problems were reported at VP/T in the immediate aftermath of 1.18, and again today, when I was referred to you. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:50, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. You should find that the problems are now fixed - to see the changes, you may need to hard refresh your browser or fully clear your cache. Ale_Jrbtalk 18:34, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, both problems fixed - excellent service! JohnCD (talk) 19:13, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing it. SmartSE (talk) 11:29, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
