Ways to improve Hannes Vartiainen and Pekka Veikkolainen[edit]

Hello, Alexeidmitriev,

Thanks for creating Hannes Vartiainen and Pekka Veikkolainen! I edit here too, under the username Doomsdayer520 and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Thank you for our new article on Hannes Vartiainen and Pekka Veikkolainen. Per WP:CREATIVE, I recommend more information on any critical notice they have received as a team, as opposed to simply a list of their works. In other words, what is about THEM that merits an article? There may be some possible content in professional reviews that were received for "The Death of an Insect".

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Doomsdayer520}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Alexeidmitriev. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 18:48, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, @ThatMontrealIP. We work in the same field, we know each other. That doesn't influence me and it's not an ad. The rest is for you to decide.Alexeidmitriev (talk) 18:54, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. On Wikipedia we consider that a clear COI, as described above. In any case the article will be deleted shortly, I imagine.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 18:57, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Got it. Then you might check all my other articles. I know of the people I wrote about.Alexeidmitriev (talk) 18:58, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to tell you that we do not want editors writing about people they know. It is a Wikipedia policy. DO you understand the policy?ThatMontrealIP (talk) 19:15, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I do, @ThatMontrealIP.Alexeidmitriev (talk) 19:18, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Alright then, you need to stop making articles for your friends then. They are decent articles, but even a hint of conflict is not desired here. I have tagged them COI so that aother editors can assess the neutrality of the articles. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 19:21, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Understood.
