You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Duluth Art Institute, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Robinbirk, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Can you please tell me why you think I'm doing one of those things?

We require articles to be primarily supported by reliable sources that were written by someone independent of the article subject and with no interest in promoting them. The two articles you have written utilized only self-published sources. We also require that articles be neutral in both tone and content (and requiring reliable and disinterested sourcing is a crucial way we work toward that). They may not "talk up" or promote the article subject. Finally, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory of "profiles" or "bios". In the "Maria Cristina Tavera" article, specifically, it contained stuff like "Often influenced by her transnational upbringing split between Minnesota and Mexico, her work draws from Latin American myths, legends, and popular culture, investigating the way that cultural icons transcend national borders to express complex identities and construct shared communities. Her art explores combining contemporary methods with traditional practices to address issues related to gender, societal expectations, and human classifications." According to whom? And what does all that even mean? That's fluff and is exactly what we mean by promotion. The rest of it is written like a CV, and a CV is by its nature promotional. I also noticed, while looking back at the deleted article, that much of its content is copied directly from another web page. That violates our policy on copyright, and is also something we do not allow. Finally (as is something standard I say to anyone I talk to about promotional editing), if you are being paid or compensated in any way for editing Wikipedia, including being asked or expected to do so as a condition of employment, that will need to be disclosed. If any of the previous applies, those disclosures are mandatory. Let me know if you've got any questions. Seraphimblade Talk to me 00:20, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Maria Cristina Tavera

[edit]

Hello Alizarinc8,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Maria Cristina Tavera for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
