Welcome!

Hello, Alkane-man, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Also, I notice that you are replacing some of the alkane 3D images. I think your images are fine, but it might make sense to add 3D images to pages that don't already have one, rather than replacing existing ones with an equivalent. Plus you have removed the 2D representations, which you should probably restore because they convey the connectivity information better than 3D images. I appreciate your eagerness to contribute, and if you are interested you can join the organized efforts to improve chemistry articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry. Thanks. --Ed (Edgar181) 22:39, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Alkane-man, thanks for the 3D images but I agree with Ed that the images we already have should stay as well. Also the hydrogens in methane seem rather small to me compared to carbon. I was just trying to introduce 1,3 steric repulsions in methane in the Heat of formation group additivity article but in your representation of methane that appears unlikely.V8rik 23:13, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Screenshots[edit]

That other pages have it wrong is no justification, so your argument is completely illogical. They will be fixed too, but at the moment I haven't got the time it takes to explain to all the fans who edit those articles why we can't use them. ed g2stalk 16:42, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
