Welcome

[edit]

Thanks for your note here about why we are seeing a number of maps recently. Sorry that the introduction to Wikipedia for some of these contributors was a bit rude, but we do take care to make sure that copyrights are respected.

I do not know if you are familiar with Wikipedia:Graphics_Lab/Map_workshop. I think it would be worth passing on to Maplift that there is an ongoing need in Wikipedia for people with cartographic skills. As you can see from the page we do have some contributors working on providing maps but there are often open requests or requests that do not get filled because there are more needs than volunteers. My hope is that people involved with Maplift would be interested in helping out and that might be a good way for them to become Wikipedians.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:26, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Stamen Design requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Barbara Brenner (politician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:NPOL or WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi! There!

[edit]

I asked a question on Talk:List of cities surrounded by another city, and I got a very helpful response from you. I clicked on your profile, only to see that we live in the same town! I'm just here to say hello, fellow Bellinghampster! Funny that I found you on a random Wikipedia page! 😁 BhamBoi (talk) 06:21, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm not very active, but I do have a bunch of things on my watchlist so it's nice to see some edits from somebody local! And I see that you're interested in Geography, so I encourage you to check out OpenStreetMap too, if you haven't already. Almccon (talk) 19:44, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do edit on there, I think I might take inspiration from you and add a userbox for it! BhamBoi (talk) 23:48, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
