I have some sources, although most of them would be considered conspiracy sites and not reliable sources. The story generally goes that the aforementioned FRNs were issued as receipts for wealthy Chinese families' gold, but several planes carrying the notes crashed in a jungle/cave, and that the bonds were recovered by local tribes decades later. Just curious as to why you had removed the $900,000,000 SC that I had earlier added, which you claimed was fake. If so, would you instead suggest it be added to the Fake denominations of United States currency page? About that $2,000 bill[edit]

As they are private issues, I would concur that odd denomination Obsolete banknotes like $3 or $8 bills don't belong. However, in the case of the $2,000 bill, the difference is that rather being issued by any random private bank, the note was actually issued by a government institution, the Second Bank of the United States. --Enterlousy (talk) 18:56, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Northridge quake[edit]

You referred to the Northridge quake in your message, I assume you actually mean the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes. The significance of the distance from the most notorious fault is important, so Littlerock, California signifies approximately the closest that fault passes near the quake zone. Because the San Andreas is on a severe west, northwest angle, by the time it reaches due east of the zone, it might also be 180 miles from Ridgecrest. I haven't calculated, it is NOT significant, nor would due north be. Proximity is significant. The proximity to the large population of Los Angeles would also be a significant distance to mention. San Francisco (notorious but no longer even the biggest city in its metro area) is so far away it is not significant to mention, particularly in the lede. US Nickel[edit]

Following up: Man, it's crazy that Wikipedia doesn't have a normal messaging feature. So to your train of thought on the Canadian nickel, part of my angle was that it's almost identical to the US coin – all the Canadian coins are nearly identical to their US counterparts, and since Canada is one of only two neighboring countries it seemed very related. As far as where the line is, I don't know. You mentioned the British 5 pence coin – I wouldn't care if someone added that, but I don't see it as related enough for me to add it myself... (It's physically much different from the US coin, more like a thick US dime, and British coins are unrelated to US coins – we don't see them co-circulate the way US and Canadian coins do.) Hello, not sure how to message people. You deleted my reference to the Canadian nickel in the See Also section at the bottom. That's what See Also is for – related entities or subjects. Many coin pages have related coins in the See Also. For example, see the US quarter and US penny articles – in their See Also they have the Canadian quarter and Canadian penny, respectively (and it wasn't me who put them there...) Likewise, the Canadian nickel is almost identical to its American counterpart. Note also that the note at the top of the article mentions the Canadian nickel, because it's similar: "This article is about the U.S. five-cent coin.
