Hello. I believe you're trying to create an article about Lake Merriweather at "lake meriwether". It appears to be an article still in development and so I have tagged it for deletion. Note that you should not remove my tags. The title is incorrect for various reasons and the article needs at least a little more substance before it can go up. I recommend you create the article here: User:Aloha mwr/sandbox and perfect it, then post it. If you need assistance with it, please let me know. I'm also going to put a welcome template here for you. Happy editing! Into The Fray T/C 23:43, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Aloha. I'm watching your page in case you responded to my notes above. What can I help you with? Into The Fray T/C 00:48, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aloha mwr 01:12, 15 September 2007 (UTC) Well, a couple of items if you please. I'm trying to create an article on a lake, and the links provided above are useful. Before I go too far down the road, the lake is somewhat small, and I'd just as soon not finish the sand box work just to find out it wasn't appropriate because it deemed to be of limited interest. Any advice as to how to make that call? Also, there is a Meriwether County, GA, wiki entry. Should I just addend this information to that page? Ultimately, I'd like to work on more substantive articles (science/technology), but I thought something smaller would be a good place to start. [aloha][reply]
  • I saw the article in your sandbox and I think it looks pretty good. Sadly, though, I also think it already exists here: Lake Gaston. It may be a different lake, but I don't think so.
  • Please remember to sign your talk posts with four tildes like this: ~~~~. There's also a button for it when you edit.
  • As for the notability of lakes, I think that it's pretty generally accepted that geographic formations and man-made lakes are notable enough to survive.
  • As for how to contact users, most experienced editors have a user page and a user talk page. Mine are User:Into The Fray and User talk:Into The Fray respectively. Posting a message on my talk page, for instance, automatically gives me a message that I have messages. I check it and then either respond there or here on your talk page.
  • I noticed your "helpme" because your talk page is in my watch list. {little link at the top right of the screen)
  • And, on a final note, using {{ }} is to apply a template. So, for instance, when I put the welcome message above, I typed {{subst:welcome}} and then, when I save, it automatically comes up with the pre-formatted message. You did the "helpme", but you included the "nowiki" switch, which means the template wasn't used. I use the "nowiki" to make sure that the template isn't used, just what you need to type.
In any event, I have to head away from the computer for a bit and am trying to cover a lot in one post. I've asked another experienced editor to keep an eye on your talk page in case you have more questions. I don't know if he's available. If he isn't, I'll be back later or tomorrow. Good luck to you and welcome! Into The Fray T/C 01:18, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the information. I appreciate what you've already explained, and respect the fact that you've got other places to be. The information pond in my mind is full, so to speak, so before any more wisdom runs over the dam and I start getting really confused, I will stop posting until I've had a chance to review what I've learned tonight.
