The article 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. If you can provide more information about this subject, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 17:35, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

June 2008[edit]

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Center for Women's Global Leadership. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 17:36, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 12 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for Repeated copyright violations. Request reason:

I am on the staff of CWGL and I am attempting to create a CWGL wikipedia page by both Wikipedia's and CWGL's standards. I am new at this and wish to be unblocked so that I can finish this project.

Decline reason:

Please use the time until your block expires to familiarise yourself with the various policies cited on this page. —  Sandstein  19:48, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Center for Women's Global Leadership, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 19:01, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Amacmunn for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 20:45, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am new to wikipedia, and attempted to update information for a nonprofit for which I worked. I was blocked, and tried to fix what I was doing but was then blocked indefinitely. So I went back and reviewed the wikipedia rules and standards, and now I understand that I can't do this because it is a conflict of interest, and apparently it was also against the rules for me to change user names after being blocked. I wasn't trying to be invasive or "deceptive" in this, I was just trying to figure out how to use wikipedia and edit pages. Having said this, I hope that in good faith I will be unblocked so that in the future, if I want to edit a page that is not a conflict of interest, or if one of my coworkers wants to use this IP address, it may be done. Please accept my apologies, and I will continue to review the wikipedia rules and regulations.

Decline reason:

You have not been blocked indefinitely. When the original block expires you may edit again. — Selket Talk 16:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
