For the citations you may want to cite your sources how Wikipedia cites with the numbered links after the sentences instead of the citations written out. (Aeivkovich (talk) 20:31, 21 March 2016 (UTC))[reply]

In the last sentence of the Taxonomy/Description section, you wrote the word "soundings" and it needs to be the word "surroundings". (Aeivkovich (talk) 20:31, 21 March 2016 (UTC))[reply]

The fourth sentence of Taxonomy/Description that is describing the coloration needs to be reworded. It feels like a run-on sentence with a lot of information and description fit into one whole sentence. (Aeivkovich (talk) 20:31, 21 March 2016 (UTC))[reply]

In the Life Cycle section there is no citation present. (Aeivkovich (talk) 20:31, 21 March 2016 (UTC))[reply]

The rest of your article is well done and you are on the right track. (Aeivkovich (talk) 20:31, 21 March 2016 (UTC))[reply]

For citations, in the 'edit' section there is a citation button that will make the citations for you to use.

Genus and species should be italicized.

Overall, it is not a bad start.

You are off to a good start to your article. As the two other reviewers mentioned, there is an easy way to cite your information. If you are confused on how to add the citations, I recommend redoing the training “sources and citations”. I also believe that a different style of headers should be used, instead of just bolding the words.

There were also a few grammatical errors, and some sentences feel awkward. For example, the last sentence of the “taxonomy/description” section was quite long. A possible way to rewrite it could be: “Exhibiting these colors enables P. melanostictus to camouflage into its surroundings, allowing for easier prey capture.”

If you can, I suggest expanding upon the life cycle and habitat sections. It might help to review the sources in the original article, since that described more of the sand sole’s worldwide distribution, not just its range in the United States.

Finally, if available, some additional information about their diet, behavior, and any human interactions would be further avenues to explore. Sespry13 (talk) 17:08, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I'm late to writing this, but I agree with what the others have said. It seems like you have a good place to start but need to add some more info to some of the topics. Also in googling the sand sole I found two wiki articles so you could maybe explore combining the two with a description of what makes the Pacific Sand Sole different than the regular Sand Sole.

I would also look into the templates of similar articles to see what sort of topics they cover to see if you could add any additional information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatfish Just an idea, I don't know much about Sand Soles so maybe there is not enough research on them to fill all those spaces...

I would also suggest copying the picture and taxobox over from the current article into your sandbox so you can play around with formatting your page and creating a heading with a descriptive paragraph above. And as was stated you need to add some citations in, I was just messing around with them myself and wiki makes it pretty straight forward if you type in the URL they can generate a citation and put it in the correct format. I'm hoping we can ask the person from the Library today as formatting the references is still a little confusing though...

Good start though! Phhutchi (talk) 18:01, 28 March 2016 (UTC)phhutchi[reply]
