response to email

[edit]

You sent a private email: "Hi - I have created a draft for Indian actor 'Sapan Krishna' who does not have a Wikipedia page as yet. How can I get an administrator to take a look and publish it. Kindly help."

Please understand email should be used for private matters that should be kept out of view for privacy issues, not regular Wikipedia communications. We prefer they are all public and visible in Talk pages.
Now for your answer. Administrators do not "publish" articles. You do, once an article is decent enough to be moved out of draft form. Please see:

I received your email, and wanted to say exactly what Alexf said. I would also note that Wikipedia has articles, not "pages". 331dot (talk) 17:55, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I published my article Sapan Krishna about a month ago and as far as I understand the process - next step would be taken by an administrator who will review and approve or reject it. Hence, I emailed few active administrators. It would be great if someone can tell me what is the next step in making the article public on wikipedia? Or I have to just wait longer? Any help or directional support would be highly appreciated. Thank you. AmazingVoiceovers (talk) 18:41, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi — new articles aren't reviewed by admins (by which I mean: of course they can be, but reviewing doesn't require admin privileges), but rather by new page reviewers. This article has been reviewed earlier today (as it happens, by an admin!) so in that sense the process is complete. Having said which, there are a large number of problems with the article, which have been flagged up by the maintenance tags on top of the page. I would suggest that you attend to them, as otherwise the article may be proposed for deletion. Best, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:26, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the response. I am looking at each suggestion and trying to correct all the problems asap. Will post here if I need further help. Once again sorry for the unsolicited email which few of you received. As a fairly new editor, I wasn’t sure of the protocol. Thanks ! AmazingVoiceovers (talk) 14:15, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, AmazingVoiceovers. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:27, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I have no personal or professional relationship with the subject. I have contacted the subject few times on social media for additional information. Otherwise, I am a HR professional with keen interest in content writing, voiceovers and coaching Thank you. AmazingVoiceovers (talk) 14:08, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Abhilash Nair Creatives

[edit]

Hi — what, if anything, is your relationship to the user Abhilash Nair Creatives? Thanks, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:30, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - Its an old id for which I have forgotten the password. I started creating this article last year using that id but lost track and the article was made inactive 6 months later. Then I created this new id, reclaimed the page and updated it over a course of last 3 months. Hope that clarifies. Thank you ! AmazingVoiceovers (talk) 14:04, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
