Introduction to contentious topics[edit]
You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

Hi AmericanBaath, the "500 edits" restriction mentioned in the blue box above is pretty broad; it applies to article edits (2023 Israeli airstrikes on Palestinians fleeing Gaza City) and even participation in deletion discussions and requested move discussions. - Ah, thanks for asking – yes, probably. That would be an internal discussion with the intent of finding a consensus on the issue, rather than a simple edit request. You may be interested in the following clarification request to the Arbitration Committee:
- Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Clarification_and_Amendment#Clarification_request:_Extended_confirmed_restriction
- It's currently open and has not yet reached a clear conclusion; you can see the arbitrators' individual opinions there.
