Welcome!

Hello Amerigasanmichele, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Newbie edits by you[edit]

I have removed your recent submission (and the external links) from U.S. 366th Infantry Regiment to the article's talk page because of (a) poor formatting, (b) the material looks like it should be in two articles for the people described (Queen and Nelson), not in this article, and (c) Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided. OTOH, it's questionable if they meet WP:BIO ... Queen's looks like just an excerpt from an Army internal memo, and Nelson's reads like a tribute/obituary, violating both WP:OR and WP:NPOV.

Nonetheless, I have done some minimal formatting, e.g., removing the leading blanks from paragraphs, which caused the formatting errors. If they can clean it up, then they should try again. Here is what I removed.

You should spend some time practicing with your Sandbox, learning about Wikipedia formatting, links, guidelines (WP:BIO), and official policies (WP:NOT, WP:VANITY, and WP:NPOV) before you undertake creating articles, but I wish you luck in your endeavours. Your recent edits to U.S. 366th Infantry Regiment[edit]

I've tried to incorporate some of your recent submissions after I did the revert. You should learn to use the History tab and review previous submissions and reverts.

By consensus, the correct term in this context is African American (without a hyphen) ... this is not the same as Black people or Negro, both of which have their appropriate uses. This article is about segregation in the United states Army, and the link to "Negro" does not put an American spin on the discussion ... it's more of a world-view article.

Also look at the differences in the History to see how links should be properly formed ... some other editor has already moved (and redirected) Lorenzo R. Nelson from Dr. Lorenzo R. Nelson according to the Wikipedia Style Guide, so I have put a proper link to him on the 366th page. The Charles Fisher link goes to The Wrong Guy (someone from the 19th century), so I removed it ... while editing, be sure to click on your links even when they are blue to confirm that they're going where you think they are. Just because it's not red (indicating No Such Article in Wikipedia) doesn't mean it points to what you think it should.

Take a look at some of my previous edits for examples of what things should be linked and how to do them. (I linked Cross of Lorraine and campaign streamer, for example.)

Look at other bigraphical articles and you'll begin to get the hang of Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Notability (people) restrictions, e.g., you cannot include references to yourself, either by name or with a link to one of your Web sites ... that's grounds for a Speedy Delete of new articles (less than a week old) and violates the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guideline. —141.156.240.102 (talk|contribs) 22:00, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Lorenzo R. Nelson[edit]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Dr. Lorenzo R. Nelson. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. NawlinWiki 14:58, 12 December 2006 (UTC) DECEMBER 12, 2006 NawlinWiki Your comment does not reflect that you have a basic knowledge of this field and thus it reflects sadly a dearth of knowledge of the Culture or the period of time with which you apparently are totally unfamiliar. The last word is used courteously. IF YOU ARE A LEGITIMATE EDITOR it would be appropriate to carefully research the topic that you are considering "editing" or "deleting". Nothing which was written may be considered "nonesense" other than your very shallow comment. IF WIKIPEDIA is to have any credibility it must become more enlightened of those persons who have made selfless, profound contributions to the CULTURE. I have been unable to find an appropriate reference to Dr. Jeanne Spurlock, now tragically deceased, e. g. I have submitted a request for appropriate review and "arbitration" but will not contribute anything further until I receive that critique. I deeply appreciate the critiques that have offered appropriate suggestions in terms of format and content. You may find my Curriculum Vitae by accessing my website www.americanelson.com In it you will find that I am listed in several Marquis Who's Who editions as well as the several editions of International Biographical Dictionary, Cambridge, England. I believe that both Dr. Lorenzo R. Nelson and Mrs. Blanche Juanita Crawford Nelson are also listed in or near 1979 or 1980. Thank you for your courtesy and quest for documentation and knowledge.
