Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Amiratotah, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Notes

[edit]

Here are the promised notes:

  • There's already an article on the Nez Perce tribe, so we can just link to that rather than including a section on the history of the tribe. The article can have information on how this has specifically impacted Frank, but a general history isn't needed in this situation.
  • I'm doing some cleanup for tone and flow, as some of this was just language that was a little promotional in ways that wouldn't be an issue outside of Wikipedia but would be on this site. With writing, we need to be careful to avoid any subjective language or content, as we can only summarize what has been explicitly stated in the source material. We also need to avoid using words like "we" and "you" in the writing as well, as Wikipedia uses the formal third person style.
  • The Worth Point source looks to be an e-commerce site, which poses an issue of reliability since their main goal is to sell the reader something. The other sources look to be fine, however.

I'm going to move this back live since I did some cleanup for tone, but still wanted to give you some notes to explain why I moved this back and to explain the cleanup, as much of this was just style and tone issues that are kind of unique to Wikipedia.
