Editing

[edit]

Hallo and thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. I was alerted to Jia Rizivi on a list of women's articles up for deletion, so had a look at it. A few points:

  • Please be careful about spellings: the article is at the wrong title. I moved it, then remembered that one shouldn't move an article during an AfD discussion so moved it back.
  • Please remember that Wikipedia doesn't refer to people by their given name, but by their surname - I changed "Jia" to "Rizivi", and then to "Rizvi", in several places.
  • Please don't use "curly" or "slanted" quote marks or apostrophes.
  • Reference names like "one" are not helpful - please use more meaningful names as you did when creating Scott Zeron. Perhaps this was an experiment - please don't repeat it. I've changed the names of a few of the re-used references (and also given their authors credit in a couple of cases).
  • I've never heard of a "box person": is that really the correct word for a "boxer" in some variety of English? I changed it.

There's a lot to learn about editing Wikiipedia but it's an interesting journey. Whether or not Jia's article survives, Happy Editing! PamD 09:54, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

And I'm puzzled by "He is the third driver over the past two decades to be honored with the U.S. Driver of the Year title". Is there a missing word or phrase like "Canadian" or "from xyz" or "aged under xx"? It's easy not to notice when you're typing fast, but please take a moment to read through what you write. Thanks.
