Recent edit to Employment discrimination

Hello. I noticed that you recently made a contribution to the Employment discrimination article that seemed to be a test. Your test worked! Gender pay gap

Hi! I removed the content you added to gender pay gap. There are a few reasons for this, which I'll list below:

• This seemed like it was too closely paraphrased from the source material for comfort. I don't think that this was a case of intentional plagiarism, but you need to be extremely careful to make sure that you're not mirroring the way that the material is written in the source material. If this was meant to be a quote (at least the one about the gap narrowing very little), keep in mind that quotes should only be used if the content can't be summed up in your own words without something being lost in in the process. An example of this would be someone quoting a politician or author's statement or speech. You also have to make sure to add context to show where the quote is major enough to include.

• There were some spelling and grammatical errors - these looked to be typos, so mostly I just want to caution you to be careful and proofread. The content was also bolded in the paragraph, which goes against the style guidelines.

• The sources dealt with the United States, so the sources' findings would not be applicable for other countries. Even if it seems likely that the findings would be applicable for other countries, keep in mind that this would be seen as original research because it wasn't created or intended to be applied for every country - especially as there are a lot of differences between countries when it comes to the gender pay gap. It would be better to perhaps focus on the country specific article, Gender pay gap in the United States.

• With writing styles, make sure that you stick to Wikipedia's writing styles. Avoid writing directly to the reader via wording like 'you' or taking a conversational tone.
