Owners of Box Office Mojo

[edit]

See the page Box Office Mojo. Amazon.com are here referred as owners of Box office mojo. They bought BOM through their subsidary IMDb. However, since they are owners of IMDb they are also owners of Box office mojo. A subsidary's activities are partly or completley managed by it's parent company and it's finances provided by the parent company. An author of a novel is not it's publisher but one who finances it so it can be reproduced and sold. Since Box Office Mojo and IMDb is managed by Amazon.com it is their publisher. And well anyway the owner is the publisher. Of course if you think the FA nominators have mistaken by making Dredd a featured article then you can tell them how to do their work. You are a new user so instead of fighting with others over trivial things you should try to discuss any issue or dispute peacefully and try to learn the rules and ways of editing Wikipedia. Addittionaly in Dredd Box Office Mojo is cited in the work section of the source rather as a publisher of the source. The work on the box office statistics is done by BOM although it's finances are manged by Amazon.com. I've done the same thing on The Hobbit The desolation of smaug and cited the box office mojo source in the same way. KahnJohn27 (talk) 13:41, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the update. I'll be sure to take that on board. But you should note that I didn't say that Dredd didn't deserve to be a featured article or was incorrectly displaying information. It was a general statement and as it turns out I was wrong. So while I appreciate your assistance in pointing it out to me, I am a new user and as an experienced one you could have done so in a less condescending manner. Anyway thanks again for the help. I can understand what you say but still I'm not really that much of an experienced user. Also I should have said this earlier but I'll say it now. Welcome to Wikipedia and happy editing! Cheers! KahnJohn27 (talk) 10:25, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Thanks! An Unexpected Journey 19:18, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
