Declined Draft[edit]

Hi there,

I'm the reviewer who has just declined your draft on Henry Pope Anderson. Unfortunately I had to decline it on copyright violation - the text looks like it mainly came directly from his obituary. Wikipedia has to be really careful on copyright requirements, so this means the draft may be deleted. However this isn't a total end of the line by any means.

While an obituary can make an excellent source, it both can't be taken directly as a source (it needs paraphrasing) and can't be a sole indicator of notability. Lacking Wikipedia's "notability" is NOT the same as lacking importance by any means - just an indication of how much reliable coverage there is of the individual in secondary sources.

If there is more reliable material (look for things like reviews on the texts he wrote) then you could re-create his article appropriately. It is worth having a look at writing your first article for some easy how-to details.

Please let me know if you have any questions (just respond below) Nosebagbear (talk) 22:51, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
