Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 3RR at Christopher Reeve

G'day Andymii, just watch the 3RR at Christopher Reeve. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 23:56, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've placed full protection on the article for three days to encourage the development of consensus on the talk page. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 00:15, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

BMK

[edit]

I wouldn't worry about him, too much. Some editors desire attention and it's easier for them to get attention by provoking another editor into a fight, than to get attention by making awesome edits. If you get into dispute with this type of editor, they will pick and choose certain guidelines to justify their attitude, and drag the whole debate for as long as it takes to get everyone really frustrated. Just by being involved (even as the innocent party) your name will be tarnished as a trouble maker. Easiest solution is to make a succinct point on a talk page, and if they continue to make disruptive comments/edits, then ask for an outside opinion on the edits, while ignoring their comments. Spacecowboy420 (talk) 06:27, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you have this situation again (and I hope you don't), it might be of benefit to re-read WP:Dispute. This is a WP policy article and contains Graham's hierarchy of disagreement. Have a look at the bottom of the pyramid and this uses exactly the example you were faced with as the worst type of response. I hope your future editing is more relaxed.
P.S. the blue text on green background of this page makes some parts of it impossible to read.DrChrissy (talk) 16:12, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

One of my networks is blocked for some reason

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Andymii (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

One of my home networks has been blocked for being a spambot (I'm able to edit from other networks in my house). I received his text:

You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create them. Editing from 64.145.79.56 has been blocked (disabled) by NawlinWiki for the following reason(s): spambot

This block has been set to expire: 17:45, 24 November 2016.

Even if blocked, you will usually still be able to edit your user talk page and email other editors and administrators.

I believe this block was made by accident. May it be lifted so I do not have to occasionally switch networks to edit? Thanks!

Decline reason:

Per below, the IP block is warranted. Huon (talk) 12:51, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I do not see a block on this account. Please post, below, the message which you see when you try to edit from this account.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 13:54, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Incidentally, I agree with an earlier editor; having a dark green background makes reading text on your page quite difficult. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 13:56, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Even though it's an IP address, it doesn't allow me to edit even when I'm logged in. --Andymii (talk) 13:59, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

When looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:BlockList?wpTarget=+64.145.79.56&limit=20 I see 2 entries - the first one being a {{colocationwebhost}}, which is covered by Wikipedia:Open proxies. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 19:37, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I can confirm that you are editing via a proxy of some sort, but now I have an additional concern that you are using multiple accounts to split your edit history. Can you explain this please? -- Amanda (aka DQ) 08:14, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, that makes sense. In your concern, do you mean accounts or wifi networks? I edit only from Andymii (rarely as an IP), but often edit from school wifi or the various networks set up at home. Some are faster/slower than others at any given time, so I sometimes switch. On of them just happens to be a proxy. Sometimes, I'm also using hotel wifi when away (like now). --Andymii (talk) 12:05, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Punctuation belongs outside quotation marks on Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi Andymii, I'm guessing you are American because you have been changing punctuation to American style. However, Wikipedia uses "logical quotation", in which punctuation marks go after the quotation mark instead of before. See MOS:TQ for verification. Please don't alter any further punctuation on Wikipedia. Thank you. Softlavender (talk) 22:54, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding jokes to Wikipedia

Per WP:TONE, there's no need to make a joke out of the bird strike in this edit. My replacement text clearly stated that the bird was killed. Please do not restore the joke text again. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:48, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
