Encyclopedic examples[edit]

Hi Angie: It seems to me that you continue to have difficulty identifying the boundary between the encyclopedic and the unencyclopedic. We really need to address this, because if you continue to add substantial amounts of unencyclopedic material that outweighs the good that you do with the encyclopedic material. I have just removed the example of male chauvinism that you added to Chauvinism. Gaston is a secondary character in a minor movie. He does not exemplify "male chauvinism" in the general consciousness. Most people would have to look him up to find out who he is. Because of this, he does not enlarge most reader's understanding of the nature of male chauvinism and, so, does not enhance that article. Please stop adding examples to articles. Until you have a clearer understanding of what makes a fact encyclopedic, please suggest your examples on talk pages. That way, we can discuss them first, and you can avoid becoming a problem editor. —Theo (Talk) 10:42, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Archive[edit]

Painting to decorate this bleak white space

Your squeak is my command. I have archived your talk page. The first archive is 'full' so I have started a second. Now when you want to tidy your talk page you can cut text from it and paste it to User talk:Angie Y.\Archive 002. It is considered bad form to cut anything within 24 hours of its creation unless it is very obvious vandalism or significant personal attack. —Theo (Talk) 16:28, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Super Robot Monkey[edit]

Thank you for making this change. —Theo (Talk) 23:44, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Minor fictional characters[edit]

Hi Angie: Your creation of the Vega article contravenes the policy WP:FICT. I can see how this may have seemed reasonable, since you were populating a redlink in My Life as a Teenage Robot but what you did compounds someone else's error. I have merged the character articles back into the main article. If the main article gets too big then the solution is to spin off a single article for all the characters. Fictional characters only merit their own article where the character has become highly notable in their own right or where they appear in many different works which cannot be grouped readily. Before you create your next character article, I suggest that you ask my opinion, unless you are very sure that it fits policy. Your other edits today(ish) all seem to fit policy (although I did wonder a little about the comparison of Mario with Sonic before deciding that this is an unusually close parallel). —Theo (Talk) 22:04, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Escape from Cluster Prime[edit]

Hi Angie. I have never seen the movie. If you start the article, I will look it over. —Theo (Talk) 00:04, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Aqualad, Robots, and Veruca[edit]

Hi Angie: InShanee reverted your restoration of the Aqualad image because that image was thought to breach copyright and the user that uploaded it would not explain its source. Because the user was doing a lot of damage it has been decided that all his images are suspect. See User talk:Dvirgueza if you want to know more.

I see that you are continuing to improve Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!.

Your addition to Veruca Salt (They're also both British girls, creating the interpretation that the spoiled brat image came from London.) is another of your speculations without a source. To help you understand the nature of the problem I want to ask you a sequence of questions. None of them will be rhetorical so please answer them here. The first is: do you agree that "creating the interpretation that the spoiled brat image came from London" is an opinion? —Theo (Talk) 20:35, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

1. It is if you've read the script to the original movie and have heard Veruca speak. [Unsigned at 22:03, 16 August 2005 by Angie Y.]
I do not entirely understand this answer so here are some further questions.
1a. My rephrased question is: do you agree that "creating the interpretation that the spoiled brat image came from London" is the expression of an opinion and not a simple statement of fact?
1b. Were you suggesting that Veruca comes from London?
1c. Were you suggesting that the idea of a spoilt brat came from London?
I am trying to understand what you were trying to say in the article and why you think your addition was appropriate. I continue to have no doubt that you are working to improve the encyclopedia. —Theo (Talk) 22:14, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

1. Yes, I was. 2. According to the two Wonka movies, yes. Veruca became the pop culture and stereotype image of the spoiled brat. --User:Angie Y.

So, do you have a source that says that Veruca comes from London? —Theo (Talk) 00:08, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the movies themselves. --User: Angie Y.

What evidence do you have that "Veruca became the pop culture and stereotype image of the spoiled brat."? —Theo (Talk) 01:13, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

From her behavior and vocab. --User:Angie Y.

I can see that her behavior and vocabulary show that she is a spoiled brat. When you say "Veruca became the pop culture and stereotype image of the spoiled brat." do you mean that she conforms to an existing pop culture and stereotype image of the spoiled brat? I read it to mean that she became the iconic image of the spoiled brat in pop culture. —Theo (Talk) 10:32, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, she did, and other character with a bratty attitude such as hers soon followed. --User:Angie Y.

Veruca Salt follows in a tradition of such characters. She is not the first. Dahl would have read about Violet Elizabeth Bott in the Just William novels as a child, for example. Similar characters were commonplace in the instructional children's novels of the nineteenth century. If you look at the list in Spolied brat you will see that they do not all derive from Veruca Salt. Consequently, if we look again at the problematic sentence that started all this: They're also both British girls, creating the interpretation that the spoiled brat image came from London. I find that They're also both British girls is an objective fact. Creating the interpretation that the spoiled brat image came from London is not fact, however, because not everyone (or even most people) would deduce that spoiled brats were originally Londoners. Even if something seems obvious to you, the most important thing is how it appears to other people. Do you agree that the first part is a fact and the second part an opinion? —Theo (Talk) 18:42, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do. --User:Angie Y.

Encyclopedias do not include opinions. They only include facts. You can change an opinion into a fact by saying who holds the opinion. So "Scientology is a good thing" is an opinion while "Tom Cruise thinks that Scientology is a good thing" is a fact. One of the rules of Wikipedia is that it can contain no new ideas so we must not use anything that amounts to "I think that …". You should only include opinions that have been published in books, in magazines, or on web-sites that have something to lose if they are found to be wrong. Does this help you to understand why some of your additions get deleted as "speculation" or "opinion"? —Theo (Talk) 22:54, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do. --User:Angie Y.

Opinion[edit]

Today I removed "His blue suit colors and technojargon are very reminiscent of Billy Cranston, the Blue Ranger from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers." from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! because I see it as opinion. I agree with your opinion that there are similarities, but encyclopedias are not about identifying such parallels unless someone else has identified the similarity in some checked source. The similarities are only important if they arise from influence and we can only record such influence if someone reputable (ideally the creator) identifies them for us. Remember that an encyclopedia is about gathering together stuff that is already known and agreed. I feel as though I spend more time scolding you than praising you and we may lose sight of the value of your contributions. I think that it is about time that I repeated that I spend so much time trying to help you to conform to policy because I am certain that your intentions are good and because I feel that, on balance, the encyclopedia is enhanced by your contributions. I am confident that you wil be an excellent contributor once you have a fuller understanding of policies. —Theo (Talk) 23:28, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages[edit]

Hi Angie: Thank you for using talk pages to post your comments and opinions. While going through your edits I noticed just two minor policy misunderstandings: duplicate wikilinking and redundant categorization. In Teenage Space Robot you linked slave twice in the same section. We only link to another page once per page: usually on the first occurence of the phrase. In Kocoum you assigned the Pocahontas character as well as Disney character category. The Disney category because all Pocohantas characters are Disney characters. We only use the "sharpest" or "most focused" category in a hierarchy. is not needed, since it's less 'accurate'). I am not sure that I have explained that last point clearly so do ask me to clarify it if I have been confusing. —Theo (Talk) 09:52, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Incredibles[edit]

Kitana[edit]

Hi Angie: Do you understand why I made this edit? —Theo (Talk) 09:37, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Angie: I like this edit. —Theo (Talk) 18:16, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image Sources[edit]

Hi Angie: When you up load an image like this, you must cite its source because unsourced images are deleted. In this case, I made a search and found that the image was Copyright © 2002 Funakupo Stuffies (see http://www.funakupo.com/gallery/rika.html), so it will be deleted anyway. Essentially, we can only use copyright images if the image is the subject of the article (this is an over-simplification, but it will do for now). In the case of anime characters, we can use a screen shot of the character or a promotional image created by the owners of the character. You must be very careful about which images you upload and you must always state their source. —Theo (Talk) 09:51, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'll be careful. --User:Angie Y.

22 August[edit]

I have concerns about the following edits, which I have 'fixed':

Theo (Talk) 17:09, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that I did those things. --User:Angie Y.

Thank you for your remorse. More importantly, do you understand the basis of each change and do you think that you can avoid similar problems in future. And a third question: is this helping you to learn policy? —Theo (Talk) 18:26, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think so. --User:Angie Y.

Good. I worry sometimes that this relentless commentary on your every edit might become a bit bruising for you. —Theo (Talk) 18:53, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Angie: How sure are you that the picture of Kitana is not copyright? —Theo (Talk) 20:53, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I found it from a fansite on the character. --User:Angie Y.

The image also appears as part of thesims2.filefront.com/screenshots/File/39806/1 with a copyright notice dated 2005. It may be a screenshot from something other than Mortal Kombat 2, in which case it cannot be Fair Use. I guess we leave it for others to verify. —Theo (Talk) 22:43, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

24 August[edit]

Hi Angie: This edit sequence is excellent. The explanation is really neat. The edits would be perfect if you used the Edit summary box to summarize each edit. The summaries help anyone who is looking at an article history or Recent changes. —Theo (Talk) 14:49, 24 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'm glad I was able to help! --User: Angie Y.

We can set up your user account so that it prompts you if you forget to enter an edit summary. We do this by adding some javascript code to User:Angie Y./monobook.js. Would you like me to do that? —Theo (Talk) 15:31, 24 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! --User:Angie Y.

It is done. You need never omit a summary again. —Theo (Talk) 16:03, 24 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Extra info on warriors[edit]

Hi Theo: Can you add the following information in the warrior article?:

Warriors in some cultures, like the Powhatan Indians, are the chosen husbands of women, especially the daughters of emperors, kings, or chiefs.

Kocoum is the man chosen by Chief Powhatan to be the husband for his daughter, Pocahontas. Being a warrior, Kocoum would protect Pocahontas from any danger, as heard in the deleted scene "Dancing to the Wedding Drum", but Pocahontas doesn't want to marry him, in part because she is a free-spirited woman who loves adventure. --User:Angie Y.

Do you want to say that in some cultures women prefer their husbands to be warriors? What is your source for saying that this is true of the Powhatan? I think that the second paragraph has no place in an encyclopedia article about warriors. It is an essential part of the story of Pocohontas but it is not appropriate to explain non-fiction subjects (like Warrior) with fictional examples. —Theo (Talk) 18:13, 25 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

According to The Real Pocahontas, marriages were often arranged by Powhatan chiefs; the princess could become a wife to any man that her father chose personally. Most men in the tribes were warriors, so my last sentence is correct. --User:Angie Y.A

If most of the men were warriors, it is not significant that Pocohontas' father chose a warrior for her. It would be significant if he chose a non-warrior, because that would be selecting from the minority. —Theo (Talk) 19:29, 25 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, thaat's true. --User:Angie Y.

Housekeeping[edit]

I see that you are doing some good work tidying up spelling errors and the like. Shang Tsung could use your help. —Theo (Talk) 14:22, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Good work on starting a new section on Tottaly spies, listing the villans in a seperate section was a need according to the talk page.--Dynamo_ace 21:39, September 4, 2005 (UTC)

More villains must be added, including Terrence and Max Exterminus. --User:Angie Y.

Steel Fans[edit]

Kitana isn't the first person to be seen using these weapons, so it's misleading to keep making references back to her about them. --InShaneee 13:56, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your edit - i'd mainly encounted the "live happily ever after" fics which is why i put it that way - FWIW i think Nickerson's Violet will probably continue to be regarded as the "definitive" Violet for a while despite the new movie. PMA 15:43, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, thanks. Also, do you think that Violet and Veruca are friends in those stories too? --User: Angie Y.

Thanks for contributing to the Mr. Horvitz article![edit]

  • I just want to say thanks for helping me out on Richard Horvitz's article. I revamped it, but it still needs work. Can you still help me on it? - InfallibleRoxi 22:19, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Richard has told me that he does NOT want any info about his wife and sons on Wikipedia, for privacy reasons. -User:Angie Y.

There is no evidence to suggest that anyone would ever confuse these two characters, so in uneccisarily clutters the page to try to differentiate them. --InShaneee 08:46, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Veruca in the novel[edit]

Can someone provide information about Veruca Salt from the 1964 book? --User:Angie Y.

Can you help?[edit]

Can you stop Oscarcwk's complex vandalism on Code: Lyoko?

Sure! --User:Angie Y.

Thanks!--성혀니 06:31, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Harperbruce 19:45, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering about that myself, and put up a note on the article talk. Should we do a revert on the article? It isn't necessarily vandalism, but way too much has been farmed out for the purposes of an encyclopedia entry.

No. I got it handled. --User:Angie Y.

Fanfiction.net[edit]

Hello, I was just wondering if you had a fanfiction.net page where I could read your stories! Invader Zim is awesome and your parody of Power Rangers sounds pretty fun (anything with giant robots is fun). If you do have a page, then you might like to see mine: poisenpikmen (I relize it is spelt incorrectly... I was tired when creating my account and still haven't fixed the spelling even though it is simple to edit your pen name...). I wrote a Billy and Mandy related poem...

I do have a page.

My FF. net account.

Thank you! Tingle

Smiling Mandy[edit]

Hi Angie, it's Tingle again. I was wondering if you knew the precise episode of Billy and Mandy when Mandy broke Derek The Stick. I'm also wondering if Mandy has smiled on any other episodes. This would be great information to add to the trivia section of the Billy and Mandy page. Thank You. 01:04, 1 May 2006 (UTC) Tingle
Oops. I just found a complete list on the Mandy page. Sorry! :) 01:11, 1 May 2006 (UTC) Tingle[reply]

Hey girl[edit]

Hey Angie, you and I have the exact same names. How you doing girl? Do you have an email? If so can you give it to me so that we can talk about a few things?

Hey[edit]

Just letting you know I answered your question on Talk:Silat from a while back. -Objectivist-C 05:47, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Code: WIKI thing![edit]

Due to the fact that Code: WIKI is offline until Thursday or sooner, I must contact various users, including you, Angie, via Wikipedia. I just wanted to tell you that Gandalf1992 suspects you are making half of the things you put on Code: WIKI up. Due to the fact I have not seen the second season, I do not know, and therefore cannot dis/agree with him.

My other message to use is: go here and back me up. I'm having an arguement with Xana1 (the guy who tried to delete all the pages on Code: WIKI) and with our usual archnemesis, Someguy0830. I need you to help me, they won't listen to reason. Thank you. KFan II 15:14, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can't for some reason, KFan. I'm blocked. --User:Angie Y.

Then how can you leave the above message? KFan II 16:14, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. I'll get on it immediately. --User:Angie Y.

Smile![edit]

Code: WIKI problems[edit]

Dear Angie Y., Code: WIKI is currently experiencing huge technical difficulties, making the acts of changing the featured article - or anything else, for that matter, impossible. Please do not use this chaos to take over the site or turn it into a fanon site with articles like "Odd marries Aelita and Sissi in same day" or "XANA dies because of pie". Just a precaution - and warning. Code: WIKI will soon work again, hopefully. See you soon.

P.S. contact RobKohr, if possible, at robkohr@gmail.com, and ask him to reactivate Code: WIKI! Petition! KFan II 16:20, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did, and he gave me the link to the main page. What do you think I should do now? --User:Angie Y.

I am just too curious to ask.... Why would you expand on the mother/father paradoxes? You do realise that these dont actually exist. If we were to entertain the notion we would then have to have the great grandfather paradox, great grandmother paradox, great great grand father paradox, etc, etc, etc. The phrase was actually coined as Grandfather Paradox and for this reason should be used to indicate any paradox which is the result of killing an ancestor and thus stopping your own birth. Enigmatical 22:55, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Okay. --User:Angie Y.

Allo o_o[edit]

Angie, do you have MSN messenger or e-mail? I'd like to talk to you, looks like we've got the same preferences in TV shows..

I'm a newbie in Wikipedia, so, sorry, I don't know how to send a PM here ._. *Runz*

Code: WIKI: Attacked[edit]

I reverted all of the vandalism, but you still have to block the vandals. Come quick! - 82 (PS: I'm Nam sdrawkcaB.)

I'm on it! But I'm going to have to wait until the vandals' names appear o my watchlist. The Realm of Lyoko has also been attacked, too! --User:Angie Y.

If there are any more partner wikis, also look at them. Vandals can easily attack wikis that are linked to each other. I have some experience with this.. - 82

Obnoxious little brother stock character type.[edit]

I made a note about it on the Talk page there. However, it needs to be expanded anyway. Since you created the article, I'm pointing that out here. --Juigi Kario (Charge! * My crusades) 18:56, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

about comments[edit]

Dear Angie, I write you because I saw your work in the article Amerime. I am not the oldest member here but not the newest either...so i'll just make a suggestion and hope you can take it if you want.

You see, comments like "(Show has Chinese things, and one character, Kimiko Tohomiko, is Japanese)" are unnecesary since there is a link which takes you directly to the series information where you can find out why is this series concidered Amerime. Since it's a list, the only things which probably are necessary to point are weither they were created in the U.S/U.K. or in France.

Girl Talk[edit]

You created the article on GirlTalk (book series). Is this any different from Girl Talk (books)? I don't know either one of the series so I can't be sure. JIP | Talk 18:16, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No. --User:Angie Y.

Thank you. I've now changed your article to a redirect to the other one. JIP | Talk 18:50, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Code Lyoko Episodes[edit]

Hi there. I was just looking at my watchlist and noticed your edits to the CL episode pages. Just wanted to say thanks for those. (I can't believe I didn't catch Sissi saying "less sexy?" in a southern twang. I ususally pick up random details like that). Anyway, just wanted to give you a thanks and a thumbs-up for your work. Keep it up and I look forward to working with you some more. --Jeremie@theLab 11:46, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you a CL fan too? =D I happen to be friends with Matthew Géczy himself! --User:Angie Y.

NO WAY!!! YOU'RE FRIENDS WITH THE MATTHEW GÉCZY! Either its a late April fool or I just met one of the most hardcore CL fans on the Internet! Wow, can't BELIEVE you know the guy who plays the voice of Odd! Anyway, yeah I'm a CL fan too and for the love of all that's sane I am hopelessly ADDICTED to that show. I've been monitoring the Talk Pages around here for a while and I'm getting a feel for my fellow CL editors. I see that you ?ove fanfiction. So do I. I have a little bit of CL fanfic coming together in my head. I can tell you about it if you're interested. I also see that you are very involved in Code: WIKI and have your own fanfic wiki. I look forward to seeing "The Realm of Lyoko" up and running. Are you still working on it? Last three times I checked it said "This wiki has been effectively destroyed by NMW. Have a nice day." I know some good sites where you can upload fanfictions, and you can always post ours. By the way, don't let KFan II get you down. I've been watching him and he seems to one of those sketchy Stalinist types who likes to yell and torment everyone around him. He thinks I'm his friend, but I know better than to fall into that trap. I noticed that you stood up to him on his talk page and called him a bully. Good job, stand up for what's right! IGNORE THE PEER PRESSURE! Anyway, It's awesome to meet you. Look forward to talking to you some more. --Jeremie@theLab 12:13, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is no joke, man! =D I actually know him personally, because we chat on a message board called Lyoko Freak.! =D Oh, and I am officially making YOU a staff member of The Realm of Lyoko! I would also like to hear your fanfiction ideas. Would you like to hear mine? --User:Angie Y.

Whoa. You know, I've been to Lyoko Freak quite a few times and I like the site a lot. It has good images and great fanfiction. I never got into the forum, but I guess I should now that I know that the actual voice actors are there. Another whoa. I can't BELIEVE it! I accept my position on the staff and I'll check in as soon as I finish this message and add "The Realm" to my Userpage's useful links. All right, to the fanfiction.

Here's my basic story in a nutshell:

Team Lyoko defeats XANA after he escapes into the real world and attempts to instigate World War III between the United States, the Middle East and China.

The team grows up and go their separate ways.

Jeremie & Aelita: They become defense analysts for the French Military. Aelita is killed by terrorists in a bomb attack on the Ecole Militare in Paris.

Odd & Ulrich: They move to Odd's hometown of Florence in Italy and get a batchelor pad together. They start their own company, DR & S Films where they make short movies and music videos.

Yumi: Moves back to Japan and puts down roots in Tokyo where she becomes a business consultant for XANADU, a corporation that specializes in creating virtual reality universes.

Now, the Factory was demolished and the Supercomputer was destroyed, but XANA survived (if I explain to you how it will take up too much room) and moved into the Supercomputer Networks of the French Military Base Jeremie works at (called "Raven's Nest") and those of XANADU Corp.

Now, XANADU was making a virtual universe and scanner system not unlike that of Lyoko! XANA infects this program, alters it to his whims and uses the company's Scanners to unleash a crushing force of monsters on the Earth. In every industrialized nation with these scanners, monsters pour out and destroy everything in their path.

Within hours, our civilization is destroyed and the survivors (including Jeremie, Ulrich, Odd and Yumi) must hide in "Survival Colonies" that are the sewer systems and subways of the major cities. Jeremie becomes the Administrator (kind of like a mayor) of New Boulogne-Billancourt. Odd and Ulrich set out to find Jeremie and Yumi escapes the ruins of XANADU Corp and sets out on an epic journey across two continents to reach Jeremie.

Also, Odd and Ulrich saved that hair sample of Aelita's from "Just in Time" and give it to Jeremie. Aelita can be brought back to life.

From there they basically do what they always do: Fight XANA after locating his alternate univers (XANADU). All of the other schoolkids become Lyokons, get powers etc.

All in all, I think it's pretty cool. Thinking up powers for the new Lyokons is fun and ironing out chapter ideas is great as well. It's basically almost a continuation of the CL series and I draw elements from Garage Kids and other sources. Yes, I would also like to hear your ideas. Talk to you soon.--Jeremie@theLab 12:38, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NoOdd/Sissi romance? Awwww....

Okay, here are mine...

My first story is a Code Lyoko spoof of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, a Japanese series.

Aelita: She is the reincarnation of the Princess of Lyoko, here represented as a planet.

Yumi: She is the reincarnation of the Princess of Mercury and uses the power of wind.

Sissi: Sissi is the reincarnated form of the Princess of Mars, and she have hydrokinesis.

Ulrich: He is the reincarnation of the Prince of Jupiter and he uses electrical power, but his attacks are not as strong as Jim's are (he too uses lightning).

Odd: He is the reincarnated form off the Prince of Venus, and he controls all forms of metal and light. He has feelings for many girls but he pines for Sissi most of all.

I'm also working on a fanfic with a friend and fellow CL fan, called Blast Into The Past and a JimxSuzanne reincarnation romance story. --User:Angie Y.

Awesome. I never knew what the heck Sailor Moon was so I probably won't understand the spoof, but it sounds great anyway and I'll be sure to read it. For my fanfic, I haven't really thought about what to do with Sissi. Obviously, she'll be a Lyokon of some sort, but she might end up being a background character. Although, that so-called OddxSissi shipping gives me an idea....
Oh, by the way I've created my account at the Realm and your wiki's main page was...um...vandalized by the AAH Vandal who keeps posting that abusive wife crap that I'm tired of reading. I'll fix that right away. We're going to need a strategy for keeping The Realm free of vandalism. I think I have a cunning plan. --Jeremie@theLab 12:59, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Will Jim become a Lyokon too? =D David Gasman would be so proud of you. =D And, what's your plan? --User:Angie Y.

Well, I've got a special plan for Jim. He is going to stay on the real world and command the colony's defense forces who fight XANA on the home front. (I forgot to tell you, XANA is invading the Paris underground and wiping out the survivors. New Boulogne-Billancourt is one of the three surviving colonies. Jim needs to prevent XANA from destroying the few survivors left). All right, my plan. The vandals like to take our pages, erase the text and put up their own messages, right? I was thinking we could copy-and-paste the pages we write onto Microsoft Word where they can be safe as backups. When a vandal destroys a page, we erase their message and paste the original article. That way we don't have to write the whole thing again. How does that sound? --Jeremie@theLab 13:24, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GENIUS LIKE JEREMIE! You have a very beautiful plan. --User:Angie Y.

Thank you! I just created the Main Page for the Realm and have my backup on Word. Check it out when you have the time.--Jeremie@theLab 13:31, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You can make an article about your story as well. --User:Angie Y.
All right. I'm on it. --Jeremie@theLab 13:40, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Show it to me as soon as you're done. --User:Angie Y.

Oh, and my friend TB3 (Real name Rhys Davies) drew a picture of Jim's Lyoko form as created by me.

Jim is basically wearing a maroon undershirt (the collar just sticks out), and khaki trousers. Over that however he's got large pads of Kevlar and leather body-armour. Metal armour on the wrists and face complete the set. His bo staff is a titanium shaft with a graphite core, making it an excellent conductor for his lightning abilities.

Sorry Angie, I was offline for a while doing chores. I checked out that drawing. WHOA. That's the best I've ever seen Jim look. I can't wait to see him in action in your fanfic. I'm going to finish my article on The Realm, and I'll tell you when its done. --Jeremie@theLab 16:22, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Only problem is whether or not he would fit in a Scanner to be virtualized. ;) But they have lost his trust. --User:Angie Y.

All right, the article for my fanfic is done. It took me a while to post it since I had to take care of some sightwide vandalism that hit my userpage and the article. You can check it out now. --Jeremie@theLab 17:34, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's the title for it? --User:Angie Y.

If you mean the title for my fanfiction, it is Code: XANADU. --Jeremie@theLab 18:30, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I found. What needs to be done with these pages?--Jeremie@theLab 19:33, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Block the users for infinte time, and revrt the pages to what they looked like before they were vandalized. --User:Angie Y.

That's great, but as far as I know (I could be wrong) I don't have blocking powers. Also, I have no idea what these pages looked like before being vandalized. I can't distinguish between what was originally a posted fanfiction or an all-along vandalism. What do I do? --Jeremie@theLab 20:06, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure! There aren't very many members who can help. --User:Angie Y.

In that case, I'll just erase the vandalisms and mark the pages for deletion. By the way, I got your message and I'd be happy to draw some FanArt for "Blast Into The Past." I've actually read it before on Codelyoko.net, so I should be able to just review it and get struck with inspiration. :) --Jeremie@theLab 20:14, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a deviantART account to post the art? --User:Angie Y.

No, I don't. How do I set one up? --Jeremie@theLab 23:21, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Go to deviantart.com, and click Register. Then fill in most of the registration fields and voila! --User:Angie Y.

Umm...There's something horribly wrong with all the wikis on edit_this.info. I can't get into The Realm or Code: WIKI. There's some message that says I must log in before viewing pages. Even when you log in, the site still doesn't let you surf it. Too wiered. It's either a virus or a server issue. Whatever it is, let's hope it gets fixed soon. --Jeremie@theLab 01:07, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User pages[edit]

I restored your user pages to their unvandalized states. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 04:07, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I Think We Can Win![edit]

Angie, Someguy just gave us two possible weapons we can use in the fight against the AAH Vandal

a) We could semi-protect pages to bar new editors from editing them or creating new ones.

b) (This is the one I'm leaning towards) move The Realm off of edit_this and onto Wikia, which is run by top Wikipedians.

What say you to this? --Jeremie@theLab 14:23, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Wikia at once! --User:Angie Y.

All right, excellent! I'll head over to Wikia and scout them out. --Jeremie@theLab 14:37, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This page is Wikia's new wiki start-up policy. I've read it and it seems reasonable. What do you think? --Jeremie@theLab 14:40, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea! --User:Angie Y.

Okay. Personally, I believe it would be a good course of action to start off at Scratchpad Wiki Labs. No matter what the content of your submission is there, they accept it (Wikia can deny your request for a number of reasons)If mini-wikis on Scratchpad get a big enough following, they can be incorporated into Wikia. Since we are guranteed space on Scratchpad, I think it would be great to use them as a stepping stone. How about you? --Jeremie@theLab 14:48, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Good point. --User:Angie Y.

I'm on my way there now. --Jeremie@theLab 14:58, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
WE ARE IN BUSINESS! I just got the main page done. Let me send you the link. --Jeremie@theLab 15:05, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Go here for our Main Page
Ooops. Angie, I was thinking about this and I realize I must have jumped the gun by recreating your wiki. You should have been the one to do that, not me. I'm sorry. To make sure you got credit, I put you down as the founder of The Realm. Sorry about all this. I'll fall behind you in line from now on. Forgive me! --Jeremie@theLab 19:45, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, you're still equal. -- User:Angie Y.

Oh, okay. My guilt has been dispelled! By the way, I set up my deviantART account. I'm waiting for a confirmation email...and my password email. Yes, I forgot my password right after signing up. I shouldn't have used an acronym. Oh well. At least the account is up, so I can start that FanArt. Feel free to contact me about ANYTHING on my talk page. --Jeremie@theLab 21:36, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's your account name? --User:Angie Y.

On deviantART, I go by the name LyokoAddict (not very creative is it? Oh well, it was better than some of my earlier names.) --Jeremie@theLab 00:53, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, got it! =d --User:Angie Y.

TRoL re-move[edit]

I think The Realm of Lyoko should be moved again. It just doesn't look right. --User:Angie Y.

What doesn't look right? I'm all ears for your suggestions. Where do you want to move it to? --Jeremie@theLab 01:51, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it should be moved to the same serveer that wikimoon.org is on. - dunno where it is. --User:Angie Y.

Ah, I see. You want it to be closer to your Sailor Moon pals. Yeah, I can deal with that. Of course if we move TRoL off of Wikia we lose protection, but I'm going to assume that wikimoon has a great anti-vandal patrol. Of course, I;m left in the dark as to how to get to that server. Contact your friends at wikimoon (I'm assuming you know people there, since you want TRoL on their wiki). By the way, I just looked into LyokoFreak's foum and read the Voice Actors' Room. Wow. It seemed hard to believe that I was reading what the very people I here every Saturday at 11:30 AM wrote. Too cool. I'm working up the nerve to be a noob on LyokoFreak. I see that you, "Taelia," are in contact with a lot of the actors and most have responded to you. Congratulations! I'm open to talk any time. --Jeremie@theLab 02:24, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiMoon is hosted on GoDaddy. --User:Angie Y.

That website looks pretty good. Given its size, we'll probably be pretty safe. I agree. Let's move The Realm there. :)--Jeremie@theLab 13:12, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Give me the link when you're done. --User:Angie Y.

All right. This could take a while, as I'm new at creating wikis. I'll try to have it up by the end of today. I also replied to the message you left on my talk page. I agree with you, KFan can be such a jerk. --Jeremie@theLab 18:09, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Back![edit]

Hi Angie. Sorry that I haven't been on Wikipedia for the last three days. We had a heat wave in Connecticut and it fried my Internet cable, and then it fried my ISP server. I only got on once on an AOL dial-up connection where I couldn't do anything since it was blocked. Sorry I was gone, but I'm back and ready to talk any time. I will put those pictures in my gallery, and I already drew three of them. See ya! --Jeremie@theLab 13:57, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! =D I'm so glad! I can't wait to put them in my favorites! Is your style like the show's style? --User:Angie Y.

About the style, it's yes and no. I definitely try to draw the characters like they do in the show. Before drawing a few official pictures I did some scratch pads of Ulrich and Yumi, and I hope you'll find them accurate. The real challenge is the eyes, and drawings where the characters are on an angle. While the characters are like the show, the backgrounds are not. I drew the Factory based off of photos of the original Renault factory found on [www.codelyoko.fr www.codelyoko.fr.]. The city's layout is similar, but the buildings will be different. There will be a bit of product placement and corporate sponsors (i.e. NOKIA, Renault, etc.). Also, when you see the drawings, try and find the cameos I put in for fun! --Jeremie@theLab 15:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! =D Chapter 10 is gonna be the best chapter ever! You'll love it! --User:Angie Y.

Oh, you're still writing it! I thought the copy on codelyoko.net was the final form with a twist ending. (Having Yumi say, "I'm pregnant!" threw it off for me and I said, "Whoa, that's crazy.") Glad to see that you're still writing it. Tell me when its posted. --Jeremie@theLab 15:26, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can check out chapter 9 here. --User:Angie Y.

That was great! You two copied XANA's evil nature perfectly! I was also meaning to tell you that you also have Odd's sense of humor down flat. I would actually expect him to say some of the things he does in you fanfic in some episodes. Can't wait for chapter 10! --Jeremie@theLab 16:08, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Chapter 10 is where the school burns to the ground. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! --User:Angie Y.

Ooooh. You have an evil side. I never would have guessed! I'm going to suppose that this fire scene is going to kill somebody (perhaps Odd or Natsumi or whoever), but other than that the student body will be pleased as punch that they are now forcibly released from school. As a humorous quip, you should have the vending machine buildings survive, but have everything else BURN. --Jeremie@theLab 16:29, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, everyone is going to survive. Even Ulrich, Odd (and Kiwi), and Natsumi. --User:Angie Y.

Well that would be like the show, where every ending is a happy ending :). I'm still going to bet that everyone is grinning when they see the smoke rising from the ruins though. --Jeremie@theLab 17:15, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deep down, yeah. But Jeremie will lose his eqiupment! And Sissi will lose all her precious makeup, jewelry and all her "in" clothes! --User:Angie Y.

Yeah, I was wondering about the fate of Jeremie's equipment (I suppose that his Einstein poster is also going to go up). I can just see Jeremie (and Sissi, for that matter), maniacally waving a fire extinguisher around trying to get to his computer or her girl stuff. It'll be a great chapter. Can't wait! Alert me on my talk page when it's up. --Jeremie@theLab 00:41, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but once you're out of a burning building, stay out. Material posessions are nothing compared to human life. --User:Angie Y.

Oh, of course! Don't think I would want to see one of our heroes die for a computer, especially when he could buy another one. Given a choice, I'd rather have life than a computer. --Jeremie@theLab 16:31, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The hotel that the group will be staying in is called the Weber-Scaff Inn. --User:Angie Y.

Nice cameo, referring to the voice actor who plays Ulrich. I saw you two talk on Lyoko Freak when I visited the site last. Most of the voice actors seem to have left for some reason. Sharon and Mirabelle disappeard last year. Where is everyone? --Jeremie@theLab 17:55, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have no clue. --User:Angie Y.

11:30 AM, Saturday[edit]

Angie, you do know that Code Lyoko airs once weekly, on Saturday mornings at 11:30? I've already seen two episodes I hadn't seen before (Cruel Dilemma and Image Problem). Judging by the way Cartoon Network is running it, End of Take should be next. Do you watch it at this time? --Jeremie@theLab 13:59, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you? It's 10:51 and I posted that comment like, 3 hours ago. Not to sound edgy, but I want to talk! --Jeremie@theLab 14:52, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm here! Don't worry! And I got the DVDs. I also wanted to discuss something with you. --User:Angie Y.

Yay! =D What do you want to talk about? --Jeremie@theLab 14:58, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The pictures. How are they coming? --User:Angie Y.

Coming. I have the scene with Ulrich and Yumi in the graveyard done, as well as the one with Odd's cell phone floating down the river and Ulrich seeing Odd dead in front of the Factory. I'm planning to draw another picture as well, namely the front of the Weber-Scaff Inn. I'm moving down my list in order so the next picture should be...that syrup bottle blowing up in Ulrich's face. I'll draw that now, but I'll have this page in order to carry on a conversation all the while. --Jeremie@theLab 15:04, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just remember, we flashforward to 12 years into the future, where Ulrich and Yumi are a happily-married couple and have a wittle girl. ^_^ And don't forget to submit them to [1]. I trust you know how to work deviantART, right? --User:Angie Y.

Uh, yeah. I just scan the picture...right? (Btw, is there a specific way Ulrich and Yumi need to look. I'm thinking of just drawing them like they were as kids, but taller and more built. Is there some difference in hair style???) --Jeremie@theLab 15:23, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you scan the picture. Then upload it into your DA gallery. Yumi's hair is slightly longer, coming to her shoulders more. Ulrich has a black hoodie with some white bordering, the same green cargo pants as before, and white sneakers with black bordering. --User:Angie Y.

Cool. I just drew my first picture of Natsumi laughing at the kitchen table. She's a bit of a challenge, since it's hard for me to draw little kids without making them look like adults. So I just drew a BIG chair behind her to make an illusion of shortness. It worked and I think Natsumi is the most fun to draw. Also, I get how Aelita looks due to her description, but is Jeremie any different? --Jeremie@theLab 15:58, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, the same hairstyle and glasses. And Natsumi is supposed to be five years old -- kindergarten age. --User:Angie Y.

Yeah, I know Natsumi's age. I said I tried to make her look five years old. You'll have to decide if she looks it or not ;). Anyway, I just finished my pic of Ulrich blasting syrup into his face and I think it might earn a giggle or two out of those who view it :). Now, on to XANA attacking Natsumi! --Jeremie@theLab 16:27, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you gonna post them into your gallery? I wanna see! my gallery is [2]. --User:Angie Y.

Of course I'll post them in my gallery! I can't think of anywhere else to put them. Your gallery is extremely cool, while mine is, sadly, extremely empty. That's mainly because I can't log in because of my stupid password. I filled out the form and they said I'd get an email in five minutes. An hour later it's still not there. Can you change your password once there, or do I now have to make a whole new account? --Jeremie@theLab 18:58, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You could change your password. --User:Angie Y.

How? Is there a special key I hit or something? --Jeremie@theLab 19:31, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. Click the Lost Password link next to "Login". --User:Angie Y.

That's what I did. DA said they would send me an email with my password, but I never got it. --Jeremie@theLab 22:28, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Get a new account, then. *sad sigh* --User:Angie Y.

I am very sad about all this as well Angie, particularly because I feel that this failure on my part makes me appear incompetent. At any rate, I'll use that much easier password you suggested. I suppose I can salvage my old username...From now on, at DA I will go by the name of LyokoAddict Reborn. I'll let you know as soon as that account gets up and you and Blueyedblonde can put me on your watchlists again. Some pictures should appear there in a few days (not tomorrow though. Tomorrow I'm in Boston for the day). I apologize profusely for all of this. Talk to you soon --Jeremie@theLab 22:40, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
