Processing[edit]

Hi Kuru and Northamerica1000.

First an aside: The "&" should be "and" per MOS.

I have an idea of how to handle it:

You paste articles into User:Anna Frodesiak/Pink sandbox for processing. I process them. When you see them arrive in Frodesiak/Bronze sandbox, they are ready for pickup.

Inputs could look something like this:

Paste inputs into Pink sandbox with highest level heading for name of table "=". Use primary headings "==" for Industry. Items within those sections just need a bit of your judgement and I can take it from there. The thing is, the sample table has Industry and Sector fields. But, the Tanzania list example has some headings that are not Industry and items have descriptions that are not Sector. They'd need me to figure out which is which. I'd rather do mindless processing of data with no judgement calls. I'm not sure if that makes me useless.

For example, a current Tanzania input looks like this:

Travel & leisure

Tanzania Air Service Limited, charter airline

So the the section heading "Travel & leisure" is not the "Industry". The "Industry" is "Consumer services", the "Sector" is "Travel & leisure", and "charter airline" gets put into "Notes", right?

There are lots of ways to handle this. One way is for you to paste odd characters at the beginning of each item to show what it is. Another way is to paste a ` character here and there after each item to deliniate.

If this muddies the project, I would understand. Think of me as a stupid robot. Sometimes robots are useful, sometimes it's easier to do yourself.

The bottom line: If you give me inputs I can process without too many judgement calls, I can handle it. My processing would take care of commas and dashes and first caps per MOSLIST. I would clean it up, add colours where needed and put it into table form.

@Anna Frodesiak: I didn't notice that you commented here. I touched-up the work on the sandbox page, copied content to List of companies of Tanzania and then blanked the content here.
