Please be aware that blanking articles will not result in speedy deletion of the page by an administrator unless you are the sole author of the page, which is not the case here. Similarly, pages are not generally speedy deleted for arguably being WP:CRYSTAL violations. This article is currently under discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Canadian federal election, 2015, where you are more than welcome to offer your input on whether or not the article should be deleted - you may want to read WP:DISCUSSAFD and Wikipedia:Introduction to deletion process for more information on how AfD discussions work. Thanks, and happy editing! BryanG (talk) 20:54, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo task force membership update

[edit]

Hello,

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do periodically to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on 1 August 2011, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. The article Ângelo Correia has been improved since you tagged it for deletion. Specifically, reliable source references have been added that verify that he meets the notability criteria for politicians at WP:POLITICIAN. I would like you to reconsider your deletion nomination, as the evidence is convincing that this person meets notability criteria, and as a result the article is very unlikely to be deleted.

I realize this was your first time nominating an article at Articles for deletion ("AfD"). Here are a few pointers:

  • Please do the steps at WP:BEFORE before attempting an AfD nomination. The article as it existed when you nominated it for deletion claimed that this person is a "former interior minister and member of the Portuguese Parliament". That rather bold claim alone should have been reason to search for references yourself in order to corroborate it.
  • AfD is not a majority vote process; rather, the final decision is made based on the consensus of the discussion. A comment like this (specifically your inaccurate "Time remaining" and listing vote counts) can be interpreted as taunting and a breach of WP:CIVIL.

My personal philosophy when it comes to deletion is to be bold and fix it first. If that fails, then nominate it for deletion. —KuyaBriBriTalk 15:56, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
