May 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm MelecieDiancie. I noticed that you recently removed content from Lourdes Faberes without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. •Melecie!• ~talk~ 09:14, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Melanie. Thanks for your comment. Where can I message you privately. Anonymous1141 (talk) 10:54, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Melecie. Spell check is too active. Anonymous1141 (talk) 10:54, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

don't worry haha. unfortunately I only accept messages through talk pages like this. •Melecie!• ~talk~ 14:22, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Also I don’t know what Sandbox is. I’ve just corrected the wording and nationality info. These are based on the subject’s British citizenship and nationality. Please stop reverting it back to something someone else wrote that is incorrect. I appreciate your vigilance but what my last edit was is the correct information. Thank you. Hi. I reverted your edits on Lourdes Faberes page because claiming to be or know the subject in question is not sufficient proof/a published, WP:Reliable source. I have read several of the sources provided, and none of them explicitly state without any doubt that she has British citizenship. They merely state that she is from the Philippines and moved the United Kingdom. An article calling her "British Asian" isn't exactly confirmation of her citizenship, and describing her as a "British East Asian" would not be an appropriate descriptor for her lede sentence, following Wiki guidelines (and technically, the Philippines is considered part of Southeast Asia, not East Asia).

If you truly are or know Faberes herself, then editing the article and using yourself as proof would count as a primary source and a conflict of interest per Wiki guidelines. Furthermore, Wikipedia has a policy against using primary sources. See Wikipedia:Wikipedia is a tertiary source. Until you can provide acceptable sources per Wikipedia guidelines (and or properly discuss them on her talk page, because of who you state you are), I'd refrain from changing information regarding her nationality/citizenship and lede sentence to avoid WP:Disruptive editing. This is all very triggering. It’s like having to fight all the battles all over again in order to belong. It’s very disheartening that a person is discouraged from saying the truth about her own life. Every time I try to correct it, you revert it back to telling me what you think I am. I don’t want to talk about it the “talk page”. I just want it to be correct as people use Wiki and it affects many areas of my life. But nobody said the internet was a fair place. This is very saddening. Ah well. Anonymous1141 (talk) 07:37, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
