I got a message from your bot about changing an article that I never even read.

I came to wikipedia this evening and was left a message, telling me that someone from my IP had vandalized a page. I have never looked at this article prior to recieving this message, and as I am the only one who usues this IP, I'm a little confused as to how this could have been done under this IP.

This is the message sent to me:

Your recent edit to Christina Applegate (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. Please let me know what is going on.

Hi,

I went to the Wikipedia homepage, and got redirected to a message saying that an edit I (124.168.133.153) had done to 'Wayang' had been automatically reversed by the AntiVandalBot. That's fine, but... it wasn't me that did that edit!

This is just FYI, I'm not fussed either way, just thought I'd let you know.

regards.

What if I'm accused of writing something I didn't write AND the IP is not the one of my computer?

When I entered Wikipedia today I found with this message "User talk:189.136.156.119 Your recent edit to Con (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles...". My IP is NOT 189.136.156.119 and I didn't modified the "con" article... what should I do? Should I ignore this message? Lautarocos 05:31, 11 July 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Edit Deletion

[edit]

My edit on the Mu Online subject was delted due to vandelism. my edit was not added as vandelism but as an imporvment to the text.

Please check it. DorTheScripter 21:14, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Less-than-ideal response

Well, you're very encouraging note to bring things to your attention leads me here. Regarding this reversion and this subsequent note on the user's talk page, I believe the user was acting in good faith and as such requires a little more than an automated note about being reverted as vandalism—I left a reply to your note pointing the user to WP:MERGE which I think is what the user was getting at by making a poor man's redirect. Anyways, no big deal, if this feedback isn't helpful then no worries. BigNate37(T) 20:55, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
