Your article L'Été sans bras

[edit]

Information icon Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page L'Été sans bras to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It has been listed at Pages Needing Translation, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. @RickinBaltimore: You have probably seen that I was currently translating it... --AntonierCH (talk) 17:52, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think I helped here in the translation but I only know French French, not Swiss. (I also only know German German, not Swiss). If you're editing a page for a short while, you can put on the {{inuse}} tag. If it's a new article, you can put on the {{under construction}} tag. As you have learned, you can instead make drafts either in your user spave (and then move them over to article space) or in Draft:AntonierCH (example) space, and do the same. A redirect will be automatically be created when you move it (you can move it yourself); ask at WP:CSD under WP:G7 "author requests deletion" for the needless redirect to be removed; they will.
Hope this helps. It's easy once you know it (after seven or eight years...) Si Trew (talk) 02:05, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your remarks and help, it is lovely to have some guidance, the projects are all so different (same for Commons) and have all a lot of rules that diverge. --AntonierCH (talk) 19:58, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Brendan Jordan

[edit]

In the lead (some people call it "lede" so as not to mis-lead ha ha with Pb) you say "live duplex". I do not know what this is, and Googling around does not help me. Does it mean simulcast (to which Simultaneous broadcast does not redirect at the moment, probably should do)? You may wish to clarify this phrase, it is just my guess. fr:Brendan Jordan has it as (d')un duplex live, which doesn't help much with the English translation since it is two imported words! fr:Duplex (télévision) Interwiki links to en:Special:ContentTranslation, which it shouldn't; I'll remove that as it is not in the least helpful. Si Trew (talk) 09:31, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@SimonTrew: Well, I used the word duplex from the French article which is "a dispositive that links two different location on TV" (rough translation). The presenter is on his stage while the journalist reports live from the Mall. --AntonierCH (talk) 19:58, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I can read the French translation, I just did. Why bother to translate it into English if you can't translate it into English? Je ne sais pas, mais s'il tu veut, regardes-tu les articles francophones, parce-que les traductions y-tel sont aussi mauvre que mon français. Si Trew (talk) 20:27, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Si tu ne peut pas traduire, ne pas traduire. Et, personne etre bilangue. Personne. Traduire de langue alien a a la langue primaire, ni l'autre. Je traduis de français en anglais, ne pas l'autre. Connait-tois? Si Trew (talk) 20:38, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
