January 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I noticed that you recently removed content from Bihar School of Yoga without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Your edit summary says this is not relevant to the school, but the text and reference say "The Bihar School of Yoga's response did not properly prioritise the welfare of survivors over the interests of the 'brand' of Satyananda yoga", so it looks as if it is relevant. Hi Tacyarg, This is Anupam here! Thanks for the message.
Regarding the deletion of Sexual Abuse Section:
  1. The Title ( Sexual abuse charge ) reflects as if the Bihar School of Yoga as an organisation has some direct role to play into this, contrary to the report that does evidently suggest it's NOT ( Page - 90, Section - 9.6 ). The readers do make opinion on few catchy words like "Sexual abuse or violence related" so it's very important to make the right messaging on such sensitive matter. The mention of BSY is about giving lesser priority to welfare of victims than saving the "Satyananda Yoga" brand despite the BSY is not responsible for mangrove ashram functioning. It's very far away from the suggested title.
  2. The description must say unequivocally that BSY or any member of this organisation were not involved in this case of sexual abuse. This case is regarding an independent organisation (Satyananda Yoga Ashram, Mangrove Mountain, New South Wales ) and Bihar School of Yoga reference comes into Section 9.6 [ page - 90 ] - "The Bihar School of Yoga's response did not properly prioritise the welfare of survivors over the interests of the 'brand' of Satyananda yoga."
This was found to be a personal misconduct of Akhandanada, Director of Mangrove Ashram, a totally independent organisation. Wikipedia is considered to be a placeholder of truth and in my view, half-truth / hidden-truth is a bigger problem than a lie. So please let's represent the facts as it is in very clear term so that it's justifiable to victims of this heinous crime and also doesn't blame innocents individual and organisations.
Disclaimer - I know BSY as an organisation very closely as this happens to be in my city, Munger. Though, I have read all the related reports yet I may be biased at some account so do correct me if any. Anupam.munger (talk) 07:22, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
