Please revert your 30 August 2020 11:42 UTC edit by returning "broadcast" back to past tense of the verb "broadcasted" in article "Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator"

Hello @Arjaya,
Regarding: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Entrepreneurs_Roundtable_Accelerator&diff=975783254&oldid=975693828

I don't wish to undo your hard work. That feels disrespectful to you, despite Wikipedia's "edit boldly" mantra. Please allow me to make a suggestion.

Please quickly revert your 30 August 2020 11:42 UTC edit by returning "broadcast" to past tense of the verb "broadcasted" in article "Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator"

The sentence should read "In 2019, ... Fox ... television broadcasted their interview ...". The "-ed" suffix in "broadcasted" forms the past tense of the root action verb "broadcast". Past tense is required because the year 2019 occurred before the current date.

Thank you, sir.

Valentinadolce (talk) 15:01, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

P.S. The piped internal hyperlink remains correct, because the linked article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrestrial_television) discusses both the noun "television broadcasting" and the action verb "broadcasting" (e.g., "The BBC began broadcasting..").

The adverbial modifier "television" remains welcome because it specifies which of the 6 common, one-to-many, electromagnetic broadcasting mechanisms (telephone, radio, television, cable, satellite, web) was employed.

Hi Valentinadolce please read Broadcasted at the top of this page - "broadcasted" is not correct. Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 15:06, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
That is fair. I understand and agree. "Broadcasted" is typically an accepted alternative as the past tense of "broadcast" (albeit sometimes proscribed), but "broadcast" is universally accepted as both the current and past tense. Thus Wikipedia would find "broadcast" the correct choice for past tense. I'm sorry, and thank you!

Complaint on RamuSR2212

Hello Arjayay,

I have been a user for many days and I am a verified user.

There is a user called RamuSR2212 who is not even a verified user.

He deleted the information about smart cities notified by Government of India that were provided by me in a page without mentioning any strong evidence or reason showing malicious intention.

He even used abusive language on me with other user VikramVS1208 which you can find in his page.

I have provided all the reasons for the edits but this user is targeting me personally. I request you to block this unverified user from Wikipedia. Thanks Chinnusaikrish (talk) 15:29, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

RamuSR2212 and Chinnusaikrish - I don't know why you have come to my page, as I am not and admin, so I can't block anyone.
If you can't resolve the problem between yourselves, then you can either make a complaint at the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents or try WP:Dispute resolution
Please remember that all information added should cite a reference to a reliable source and to avoid personal attacks Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 15:45, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

With regard to Indic script

I'm sorry I didn't know that I'm not supposed to add Indic script to Railway Station or airport's name I'm aware that it's not allowed to do so for cities' and towns' names Salman Hussain7 (talk) 10:41, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Salman Hussain7 as explained last year when you were told to read WP:NOINDICSCRIPT it applies to almost all articles - "Exceptions are articles on the script itself, articles on a language that uses the script, and articles on texts originally written in a particular script. etc."

About removing my edits and warning me even after providing many supportive clues

Hello Arjayay, You are continuously removing my edits even after providing various supportive clues and evidences... I Had many researches, media journals in this particular field. Many of local News Agency had covered such topics and personally had many pieces of work with with them. I think you should get it clarified first about the facts them only should take any further decision, as a regard to the warning left for me in my inbox. Hope you will look after this. Thank You!

Since leaving the above post, you have been blocked for disruptive editing - edits such as this edit of yours were totally unsourced, despite numerous contentious claims, and also poorly written and malformatted, while this edit removed multiple references and sourced information.
If, when your block has expired, you wish to contribute to Wikipedia please understand that all additions and changes must be based on verifiable information that has already been published in reliable sources with a reputation for fact-checking, that are independent of the article subject. These sources need to be cited in the article, so that readers can verify for themselves that the statements are true.
You must also adopt a neutral point of view, and not just delete information and references because you don't like it, as you have been doing.

hi this is bommagoud i am providing telugu book source on archive still you are removed my goud history matter why answer my question please

Hi Bommagoud
Firstly, you put your post immediately under the line that states "Please put new posts at the BOTTOM of the page and include a title set between double == signs", but you didn't do so.
Secondly, please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp
As for your question, as explained in both my edit summaries, and in the detailed notes on your talk page, it was removed as they were unsourced, unclear, additions.
There is no point in claiming "i am providing telugu book source" because you did not provide any source whatsoever. Please see Help:Referencing for beginners for the "how-to" guide on referencing.
Finally, I am afraid to say that your English is extremely unclear. You might find it easier to edit the Telugu Wikipedia.- Arjayay (talk) 09:22, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

Armenia/Azerbaijan discretionary sanctions

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Source removals

You have removed the bibliography cite in Kohima War Cemetery and some other articles but left the short {{sfn}} footnote [which is now broken and generates Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors] and the statements supported by the source unaddressed. Not sure what's the best way of approaching source removal/deprecation, but simply removing bibliography cite is not helpful. Renata (talk) 00:24, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Renata we seem to have two options
  1. Remove the references using that source, tagging the claims "citation needed"
  2. Reinstate the source and tag the claims with Template:Better source needed including an explanation
Although option 2 initially sounds better, in my experience very few "Better source needed" tags are ever replaced with a new reference, whereas CN tags often are - any thoughts? - Arjayay (talk) 07:19, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Patrick 08068897507 Thank yo for your post
I haven't done any mentoring for some time, and am a hard task-master, so I will thank you for your request, but decline your invitation. I will, however, offer you two pieces of advice:-
Firstly, read things carefully and comply with requests - when it says "♦♦♦ Please put new posts at the BOTTOM of the page and include a title set between double == signs ♦♦♦" please do that, rather than posting next to that instruction.
Secondly, as stated at WP:Autobiography
Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict of interest editing and is strongly discouraged. Editing a biography about yourself is acceptable only if you are removing unambiguous vandalism or clear-cut and serious violations of our biography of living persons policy.
Wikipedia is not Facebook, it does not have "profiles" and is not here to promote its editors, and even if your autobiography is accepted, you will have no control over its content - Best wishes Arjayay (talk) 14:32, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

List of Infinite Challenge episodes

Please take a look on your reverting, if "as followed" is clearly wrong, you should only have to remove it, but, I don't understand why you replaced by ":-", and then the sentence becomes "The viewers were asked about the best 5 characters created in Infinite Challenge, which were:-". It's the first time I see that a sentence is ended by ":-". Kenny htv (talk) 09:11, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Kenny htv : or :- are a standard way to begin a list which is what happens where it is used - although you can say "as follows" (not "as followed") it is redundant / unnecessary - Arjayay (talk) 09:16, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

CREATED PAGE FOR ACTOR JOEY AMBROSINI

I want the Draft to be taken out of the title. I don't know how to make that edit. All the links and sources are there and yes. The link to the wiki is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Joey_Ambrosini [[3]] - Cptnite (talk) 04:11, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Cptnite, from your earlier edit here, I suspect you are this person. Let's start with WP:COI as you've quite obviously got a conflict here. On the article itself, there's a real issue with sources to show notability. IMDB is rarely a good source for Wikipedia - see WP:CITEIMDB for when it can be used. Hint - not for actors. You need good secondary reliable sources that focus on the article subject, not the films. You also need to show how WP:NACTOR is met, and quite frankly, its' not there yet. Let the review happen in due time, there are a lot of other articles in draft space that need to be reviewed, be patient. Ravensfire (talk) 20:18, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi F.Blaubiget - I'm fairly neutral regarding Harold - I accept that he is usually called "King Harold" rather than Harold Godwinson, and I don't recall anyone calling him Harold II, but the Harold Godwinson article, which is linked in the conquest article, explains that. Agricolae's edit summary when reverting your edit was "unclear what problem this is trying to fix - please explain on Talk" - perhaps you should do that? - Arjayay (talk) 11:25, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
Thanks Arajaya, I´m neural also and - as someone who never read about this before and doesn´t know what is usual - just want to avoid confusion/inconsistency: sometimes writing the family name and then the given name or "crown name" (while the others have a consistent writing of the name in the article). Information regarding District of Jashpur, Chhattisgarh State (India)

Hello Arjayjay.

I am new to editing on Wikipedia. I had edited an article related to Jashpur. I had copied the exact information regarding the current District Magistrate and places of interest from the official District Goverment info website. My edit was wiped by you and i do understand i must have violated Wikipedia policies. Anyways i request you to edit/change/update the name of the District Magistrate and tourism information from the page: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jashpur_district). You can find latest factual information from : https://jashpur.nic.in/en/ and from https://cgstate.gov.in/ etc

It would be a pleasure for me and my students to learn from you. Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manas Gharami (talkcontribs) 18:48, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

To explain the deletions - as explained on your user page, these were copyright violations, you copied the text from the website, which is not allowed, so much so that your edits were removed from the page history.
As for your request, I think the best way to learn is to try. Please read Help:Referencing for beginners and change that information, citing the source, as explained in that guidance.
Jashpur district is on my watchlist, so I will check your edit once you have made it, although I am about to sign off for the evening, so it will probably be tomorrow. - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 19:05, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

I rather think the IP editor 5.47.120.104 has crossed the line with his latest edit of the page. Fck you son of bıtch, fck wikipedia and fack the administrators of wikipedia". Interesting how it avoids the real spellings of the expletives. Urselius (talk) 18:48, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Lord Such&Such - "Good grief" said Snoopy - I think I've finally resolved the problems - please let me know if there are any remaining - briefly:-
  1. Sortable tables close with |} not |-}
  2. Section titles need to be before the table, not inside it (the table can have a title, as shown/explained at Help:Table#Sortable_tables but not a section header)
  3. Do not use level 1 section headers (one = each side)
  4. Do not include references in section titles (as stated above "you should never put anything else on the section header line, you confuse the poor little thing")

A new weatherbox for Kolkata

Arjayay, in a vast place, weather may vary. So, it is expected for a large megacity having more than one weatherbox.

Kolkata is the 3rd largest megacity in India, ranks 16 in the world. It is a big area.

The weatherbox given for Kolkata is of Alipore, south Kolkata. Dumdum is a city in north Kolkata. For Dumdum, NOAA source is available (for normals). For extremes, India Meteorological Department data is also available. So, I want to create an another weatherbox for Dumdum, which will represent north Kolkata. I can give you the sources, if you agree with me.

Images and such

This is rather eccentric request, but I am desperate to find a mentor to answer simple questions to the maze of Wiki Commons copyright issues, and specifically "Tags" to authorize images. My efforts involve ancient photos from silent and early sound films. Do you know of any editors who would provide some direction on these matters. No problem if this is "beyond your ken" but thank you anyway.

Example of my issue: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:The_Patsy_(1928)_silent_film_directed_by_King_Vidor.jpg&action=submit

Hi Arjayay, sorry but it wasn't me!!! Actually my pest little brother got hold of my password somehow, and tricked me. It's a lame excuse but that's how it was. I shall be more careful in the future (I have changed my pwd).

Adding information on Sholavandan

Kind reference to the note you had just left in my talk page "Please do not add or change content, as you did at Sholavandan, without citing a reliable source." There already existed a statement on a notable philanthropist, Control Kaniappa Mudaliar. Well, you have removed that entire statement, which was earlier unreferenced. Perhaps you could talk to the person who inserted that statement?Anant (talk) 19:07, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

I could Anant, but it was added using an IPV6 which has only made that one edit, on 11 May 2020‎ - their IP address will have changed numerous times since then - even if they are still editing Wikipedia - Arjayay (talk) 19:17, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Second Afghan War

I propose that u put this page into protected request to be semi-blocked permanently (yes, PERMANENTLY). Sesroh Fo Maerd I (talk) 04:46, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi Sesroh Fo Maerd I - as I am not an admin, I cannot protect any pages, you would need to make a request at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection.
However, looking at the recent edit history at Second Anglo-Afghan War, there were only 7 edits in September, 4 in October and 9, so far, in November. With this level of editing, I doubt you would even get temporary semi-protection, let alone permanent. The page has had 6 protections in its history, the last was semi-protection for a month in April 2020. If you request protection too soon, and it is refused, another request shortly after will be flagged up as a re-request - which admins seem more reluctant to protect. I suggest you wait to see of there is more vandalism in November before making your request. - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 10:58, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Links to draft articles

Thanks. I don't agree with that policy, but I am not going to debate you on that. Before linking the draft article on List of TCP and UDP port numbers I read the entire WP:DRAFT page. There is no mention there about the no-link policy. If you care about enforcing that policy, I suggest adding that info to WP:DRAFT.

There is explicit mention there of keeping draft to main namespace redirects. I don't see the need for that policy if not to preserve links that have been made to articles in the draft namespace, that have since been moved to the main namespace. Linking draft articles in mainspace is a great way of increasing eyeballs on the article and of testing & validating the existence of the draft article. The disclaimer on top of the draft article should suffice as a warning that it may not be in perfect shape, as is the case for millions of stub articles or articles with citation issues or any number of other issues. Just my 2 cents, since policy won't be made on this user talk page. Have a nice day. --Azertus (talk) 15:23, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Azertus - the specific link I gave on your page was to MOS:DRAFTNOLINK which states "Do not create links to user, WikiProject, essay or draft pages in articles, except in articles about Wikipedia itself".
The software to automatically stop such links being added, should be activated shortly. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 18:49, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Hunter biden page is wrong

Your entry on hunter biden is wrong where you said things have been debunked because i and millions of other people have seen evidence and documents showing that the allegations are founded and true and i think your biased opinion written as "fact" is dishonest and does the world a great disservice by attempting to cover up and lie for people that you most likely lean toward. You should practice some honesty and not cover up for criminals Avogel522 (talk) 16:32, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Avogel522 - I have made 2 edits to the Hunter Biden page -this edit on 21 September 2019 was to change "was a the" to "was the" and this edit on 9 November changing the duplicate word "for for" to the singular "for".
If these edits are "wrong" or I have "said things have been debunked because i and millions of other people have seen evidence and documents showing that the allegations are founded and true and i think your biased opinion written as "fact" is dishonest and does the world a great disservice by attempting to cover up and lie for people that you most likely lean toward." then please explain how - or else apologise. It is NOT up to the reader, or another editor, to check your edits, or add references, and Wikipedia is not interested in what you "know" or what I "don't know", just the facts given in reliable sources.
The WP:BURDEN is on whoever adds or changes information to provide a reference from a reliable source that supports those additions or changes.

Links

From the policy page you linked: "Do not be afraid to create links to potential articles that do not yet exist (see § Red links)." We're building an encylopedia. Especially in cases where an article has already been created and needs to be moved to mainspace, delinking is counterproductive and damaging. FloridaArmy (talk) 11:51, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

FloridaArmy - I think you are confusing redlinks with links to draft articles. The specific guideline I linked to, MOS:DRAFTNOLINK, specifically states:-
That, clearly, covers my removal of this link, to a draft article, that you added to Roy Mack (director) - Arjayay (talk) 12:26, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
AGAIN, I have not created any links to draft pages. None. Zero.
Read the policy page YOU linked to in your edit summary. It covers linking. The WTAF page Lugnuts linked to covers lists and disambiguation pages. I'm not sure how else to explain to you that links are useful amd we're building an encyclopedia. Help move us forward. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:29, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
I see in the case you specified I accidentally copied the "Draft:" to the title. It simply needed to be chopped off. One of many disadvantages of working in draft space on notable subject instead of mainspace is it greatly complicates editing. Sorry for the confusion. November 2020

I see the edit you made on my talk page for the November 2020 change of a British English word to the American English spelling. I deleted your "talk" section on my page because I'm new and it was such a minor mistake I'd prefer not to have it on my talk page but I looked into the sourcing you mentioned and, while it surprised me - it looks like you are correct. It surprises me because Wikipedia is an American 501 (c) (3) and American English is the more prevalent version I have seen, most likely due to the U.S having the largest economy on the planet so I think most people have ended up...I don't want to say the word adopting...but seeing/using it more than the older British spellings. It doesn't matter to me really...I was just practicing cause I'm new and Wikipedia can have that policy. Just surprised me. Unless I see the word "DIGIT" on the Wikipedia page for FINGER - then I get upset! (That was a joke) Thanks for letting me know.

Hi GhostsOfGironde - thanks for your post
Firstly, please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp.
As for the British / US spellings - that is one of the oldest parts of the WP:Manual of style dating back to 23 August 2002‎, (Wikipedia started in 2001) although it has been refined multiple times since then.
I suspect you underestimate the number of people using British English. Ignoring Canada, where both spellings are used, almost all British Commonwealth countries use British English, or a slight variation of it. As of 2016 the Commonwealth had about 2,418,964,000 people, compared to the US population estimate of 2019 of 328,239,523 - indeed India alone (current estimate 1,370,118,650) has 4 times the US population (and as I well know, a lot of them edit Wikipedia).
The only statistics we have on Wikipedia edits by country and language date back to the very early days of Wikipedia (2006), when 52% of edits to the English Wikipedia were made from the US. Since then, Internet and smart phone access in the developing world has boomed, as has awareness of Wikipedia, whilst there is now a higher proportion of Spanish speakers in the US - fortunately, I also speak Spanish! - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 18:32, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Ah good to know. Never really looked at any facts or figures - was only speaking from what I have seen throughout my lifetime. I noticed this next point after I posted the message to you but didn't want to inundate you with messages. But, since you posted back I just want to say: I saw where your page says you are from and that it looks like your main "pet peeve" is spelling issues specifically. So it makes sense you corrected mine. I then realized my handle might look like I'm doing some strange French/English dispute or spat. I'm not French. I just know they can be particular on language things and have a past history with the British on it - so the Gironde has nothing to do with the editing. Good luck - and thanks for the advice with the ~ .
