Age < Awsome

I was admiring your votes in FPC when I noticed you were only 14. Thank god there are some excellent, young users. You put me to shame and I'm three years older than you. --Iriseyes 22:09, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. — Arjun 03:06, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

JCI accreditation

Hi thanks for query re Aga_Khan_University_Hospital, Karachi, I would have thought that the JCI is appropriate to include in the Standards parameter. Indeed this was part of my reasons for creating this parameter when I upgraded the template (see Template Talk:Infobox Hospital#Certification of hospital vs just Trauma provision). I have gone ahead to implement this and also wikified the ISO 9001:2000 :-)

PS. The 'Address section' I think is problematic, in as much as wikipedia is not a directory listings (also the information is available to the reader via the external link to the hospital's own website). Suggest leave 'Address section' as is for now, whilst I seek further guidence on this... David Ruben Talk 03:51, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Umm...I am confused...I have never edited that article. Is this a mistake? — Arjun 03:53, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Ooops - sorry yes a mistake - must have clicked on the wrong user link to reply to. More worryingly is that it is now not immediately apparent how I managed to do this :-) David Ruben Talk 04:21, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
No prob :D. — Arjun 14:33, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I hope you feel better...

I just hope that whatever depressing thing is happening to you, that you feel better soon. And well, that's pretty much all I can think of to say. –Llama mansign here 03:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I will be fine, I just am sorry that I did that. I will be fine... — Arjun 03:28, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

What's the matter Arjun? Feelin' depressed? Are you okay? I'm extremely worried. If you feel comfortable about it, please, email me. I'm in a state of hurt as well. --Tohru HondaSign here! 03:19, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I will survive. I just feel bad that I did that now, It was an honest mess up sorry. — Arjun 03:27, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

So was it all right if I sent you an email for the aol.com? I sent it brfore I told you. --Tohru HondaSign here! 03:38, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for asking so many damn questions! Hopefully this will be the last one. Your yahoo email is all in lowercase letters right? Wiki or Arjun aren't capitalized right? Just asking because I added you to my contacts thingie. --Tohru HondaSign here! 03:44, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes!

arjun, it's a success! I've just checked out a buch of Guitar books! Here's what I found:

  • The 100 Greatest Guitarists of all time!
  • The Ultimate Guitar Book
  • Guitar Music•History•Players
  • Greatest Guitarists

The first book has info on their equipment, which is great, as it says what kinds of guitars they played. The second one is AWESOME. It basically shows different models of guitars, like how they are made and their anatomy and history. Of course, the Strat is included. The last two are just as awesome! I'll get started right away! --Tohru HondaSign here! 22:05, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

You are my hero!Arjun 22:09, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, yes I know....;P But seriously, all I've got to do is add references right? I'm doing so right now. --Tohru HondaSign here! 22:16, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I am assuming you know how too :p, if you don't than just use the examples of the ones I have already done. — Arjun 22:23, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Is it all right if I put a ref in the middle of a sentence, not at the end? See, for Billy Corgan, the book said:

Equipment: Fender Stratocaster; Marchall JCM 800; DigiTech Whammy Pedal, Univibe

So, I just put a ref after the word Stratocaster. Is that all right? --Tohru HondaSign here! 22:37, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah it is all good, generally they should go at the end of the sentance, but since the rest of the info wasn't there after the word Stratocaster is fine. Thanks again. — Arjun 23:09, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
So...I found Eric Johnson in the book. It has no information that fits the computer text, but do I still put a reference just because he had a Fender Stratocaster? Or would that be wrong? And btw, I'm gonna be really happy if it gets into Fl and I get some credit to it :D --Tohru HondaSign here! 23:35, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Eh you are right, if the book says, "Eric Johnson...and played a Strat. Than yes use the ref, change the sentance around if you have to. Cheersy — Arjun 00:23, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Are those enough references? I can add more, I have other books. Just asking if it needs any more. Should I starting asking questions on the talk page instead? --Tohru HondaSign here! 01:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for all your work...you will be rewarded :D. Sorry to burst your bubble but generally a list like this every entry should be referenced. Cheers! — Arjun 01:53, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Got it! I shall do my best! Time to hit the books again! --Tohru HondaSign here! 01:56, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Eh, don't worry about it :D, take a break. Go bak too cupyediating 4 a lttle wile :). Cheers! — Arjun 02:00, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh my friggin god!! I found that there's a list of Gibson Guitarists! And this book has a lot of players that used Gibson Guitars... >:) --Tohru HondaSign here! 02:09, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

I know pretty cool huh, I might start helping out over there soon, but I am busy. Cheers! — Arjun 02:13, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh c'mon!...let the vandals have their fun...start referencing Strat/Gibson player lists. I own 4 Fender Strats and 9 Gibson electrics...can I be on the lists??? :) Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 02:29, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Eh, sure I will see what I can do :D. And as for being on the list go right ahead ;) — Arjun 02:32, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
I will use your talk page as a citation :D Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 02:48, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
I have already added a ref :) — Arjun 02:39, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Maybe I was wrong? In the time it took you to add your ref...vandals added the word poop to 87 articles! And in the time it took me to write this...1500 articles were blanked. Back to work! :) Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 02:48, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey Arjun, we've got the same book! Guitar, Music, History, Players! I noticed when I made a ref to Frank Zappa. Anger22 has 9 Gibsons?! I was surfin' the 'net today shopping gor a Gibson, and they were like 2,000, 3,000, or 4,000 dollars! The cheapest I found was 700 bucks :(. Ah well, for now I'll put up with editing Gibson-related articles ;-). --Tohru HondaSign here! 02:53, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

I've been collecting guitars for 40 years. I haven't paid $3000+ for too many of the guitars in my collection. And the ones that I did...weren't Gibsons and they weren't electric. Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 03:04, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Hee hee I have but 1 Gibson a 1960 Honeyburst remake, it is sweet :D. But yeah Gibsons are expensive and you have to be pretty lucky to get a great deal. — Arjun 15:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Wiki-defcon

Hey Arjun, what is the "Wiki-defcon" for? I noticed your vandalism level was "guarded" this morning, but it's changed to "moderate". Is there any useful reason for having that there? | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 22:49, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh that, that is actually a "stylized" version of the DEFCON. Basically it changes when the main one changes. — Arjun 22:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, okay! I thought it measured vandalism to your userpage; that's why I didn't understand what it was for. Wow, it's more interesting than I thought; I added one to my talk page too. By the way, how's your photography going? | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 00:46, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Pretty good, I can't exactly practice because if I take to many shots my battery's die very quickly. But I was able to come up with a cool diagram which can be seen on the Middle C article at the top. I may redo it to get a clearer pic though when I get the chance. Cheers! — Arjun 00:50, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
My batteries last a long time, and yet they still went dead after a few hours of staring at those walnuts through the viewfinder. Wow, that was hard... I'm glad it's over. By the way, have you seen Diliff's new picture at WP:FPC? Perfect. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 01:03, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, as I said then I will say now. WOW. — Arjun 01:08, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

By the way, what level did the defcon have during the Tellie Tubbie/Penis Main Page vandalism? I'm sure you heard about that. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 13:56, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

re:Sweet

Yeah, go easy with the BarnStars! I think you should give me one once every two weeks ;) No, just kidding. I'm not pressing you to give me one, you just do it if you feel I do. I actually don't mind (although I do appreciate it;). And as for the references, I have these books to thank me. I'm actually learning about new artists and bands. Now I want to hear them, like sample their music. Anyways, thanks! I'm gonna cite some more stuff right now. --Tohru HondaSign here! 03:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Cool, try listening to some Blues ya dig? Cheers! — Arjun 03:47, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey Arjun, help me out here... One of the books I've checked out is about the history of the guitar through the ages, and in the Classical guitar article, they are missing info about the Baroque guitar. This book has lots of stuff about it, but I'm a bit too nervous on contributing myself. What should I do? >.< wahhh... --Tohru HondaSign here! 04:03, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Okay hold on I am confused what article are trying to contribute too. If there is no info on the Baroque Guitar in your book then you really can't reference anything on the Baroque article ;). — Arjun 04:08, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
I wanna contribute to Classical guitar. There's a section on Baroque guitars. There is no text in that section. I'm saying the book I have haas information on the Baroque guitar (which isn't in the article), and I want to add it. I'm just too nervous to add it myself. --Tohru HondaSign here! 04:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

My Request for Adminship

Thanks for contributing to my RfA! Thank you for your support in my my RfA, which passed with a tally of 117/0/1. I hope that my conduct as an admin lives up to the somewhat flattering confidence the community has shown in me. Whilst it wasn't answered by me, I'm glad you brought up the issue of the interwiki in my sig; that probably needs to be on the record as an example of the difference between an interwiki and an external link, and if I had been the one to respond to you I'd have said essentially the same. Please don't hesitate to leave a message on my talk page should you need anything or want to discuss something with me.--Nilfanion (talk) 16:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Your Message.

I appreciate your comment, but I have noticed a mistake in it. You said Cruft was a policy/guideline, but it is really an essay. That's why I nominated it for deletion as so many people are treating it like a policy/guideline. Henchman 2000 19:15, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry if I came across that way, first off essays should be read, Cruft is a very common essay that many experienced users quote. — Arjun 19:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Also worth noting why nominate something for deletion just because it is an essay that is accidentally referred to by some as a policy/guideline? — Arjun 19:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm getting quite annoyed about the edit war between me and Llama man, so I thought deleting the essay might end it and I would win. Henchman 2000 19:35, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Umm...Well that doesn't make sense, don't disrupt wikipedia to try to make a point ad yes that is a guideline. It is counter productive to edit war, talk about the changes on said talk page of the article, that way more people can get involved in helping rather than engaging in an edit war. — Arjun 19:37, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. Henchman 2000 19:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Thats why I'm here :). — Arjun 19:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Time

I think your time is wrong; it says it's 02:44 (the morning, not afternoon). Earlier it said 23:something (evening). Considering you just edited a few minutes ago, I think it's safe to bring this to your attention; rather than living in the Eastern Time Zone, you seem to be in Thailand/Vietnam/Malaysia/Cambodia. Pardon me if you are there, and are editing at 2:00 AM. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 19:44, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Ack, I am removing that, it is always wrong!!! Also not very helpful. But I may or may not be living in Thailand, ;) — Arjun 19:46, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I thought you were lived here in America, sorry. By the way, nice sig. :-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 20:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey that is neat :), no I don't drink coffee :p or any form of caffeine for that matter. Arjun 20:59, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Look at the history of this user's behavior before trying to warn me. Thanks Parthi talk/contribs 03:57, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Your warning

Your warning will carry more weight if you cared to look into the history of behaviour of Srkris (talk · contribs). This user was blocked for three weeks, for disruptive editing and sockpupeteering. As I was the one who reported him, he has been carrying a grudge against me and ever since he returned, he has been harassing me by targetting Tamil people and History of Tamil Nadu (FAs I have edited) by maliciously taggin g images with valid licenses. Adivse this user to correct his editing behaviour. Thanks Parthi talk/contribs 04:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello Venu, I know that you are a good faith editor, and I think that some users need to be instructed to assume good faith. I will sincerely look into it but something about this seems fishy, as you may be right about the Tamil People, there was some edit warring on that page from a somewhat new user. Cheers Arjun 04:05, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Arjun. Sorry to have to meet in a somewhat heated situation. Hopefully our future encounters will be more pleasant. User:Srkris IMO requires to tryAdopt a user to correct his behaviour. If you feel that your warning of me is unwarrented, can I request you to remove your warning from my Talk poage? Thanks Parthi talk/contribs 04:09, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Arjun pls go into the merits of the case. He's reverting no-license tags without basis, and this is not related to any other issue. See this past unresolved issue Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Archive68#User_reverting_image_copyvio.2Fno-source_tags Kris (talk) 04:15, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

If the issue is 'unrelated' then why would this user only target articles I've been working on? See this reply] from Arvind in the Commons. This shows the malicious and bad-faith edits by this user. Parthi talk/contribs 04:31, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Two wrongs dont make a right. People have to focus on uploading images with proper licenses, rather than shooting the messenger. That User:venu62 edited particular articles that had these images is of no concern to me. Kris (talk) 08:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Review

Actually, copyediting isn't the same as wikifying. Copyediting is reading through articles correcting grammer, spelling, and other minor errors. SuggestBot can help if you want to find interesting articles to copyedit. I just got it done, you can see the list of suggestions it gave me on my talk page, a couple of messages above yours. Most of them were accurate, exept Fart and Playboy. :-) Good work on Hinduism, I didn't know it was already Good. Great answer to my question too. It was tough (philosophical). ;-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 15:27, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Hee, yeah I got that confused, I have been doing both lately, In fact I have been patrolling RC changes for not only vandalism but for spelling mistakes! I am planning on going through all the Hinduism stubs and copy edit and fix them up. Arjun 15:31, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I'll think of something to ask, and will post it on your review later. By the way, is school still out? I would have thought you'd be there about now. Unless you do live in Thailand... ;-) | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 15:41, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Re. Review Please

Hello Arjun. I perused your latest contributions, edit count, editing pattern, space participation, etc, and I agree with what's being said on your editor review. I am quite satisfied with your performance and I believe that you might be ready for adminship. In fact, I hereby offer myself to nominate you, should you require a nominator. Perhaps you should continue your excellent work for another week while following the recomendations on your review. Then an RFA would look nice. Increasing your participation in XfD these days would look very positive, especially if you demonstrate good knowledge of the policies while presenting your positions/arguments in the XfD discussions. I could also suggest picking a portal about a subject you like and increasing your portal space count. Portals are very interesting and easy to manage. I also endorse the recommendation about having a greater participation in admin discussions such as WP:ANI. Anyway you're doing a very good job and I doubt that an RfA at this time would be unsuccessful. Best regards,--Húsönd 18:01, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Still, I would like to request if you can kindly strike off those sentences where you highlighted the points of concerns. Nothing much, it gives a visual effect to new reviewer/voters - as if this FAC is active! Thanks a lot. Again, I have tried to trim the History section to some extent. Please have a look. Thanks. My RFA

Hey, thanks for participating in my recent RFA. You were amongst a number of editors who considered that I wasn't ready for the mop yet and as a consequence the RFA did not succeed (69/26/11). I am extremely grateful that you took the time to advise me on to improve as a Wikipedian and I'd like to assure you that I'll do my level best to develop my skills here to a point where you may feel you could trust me with the mop.

I've been blown away by the level of interest taken in my RFA and appreciate the time and energy dedicated by all the editors who have contributed to it, support, oppose and neutral alike. I hope to bump into you again soon and look forward to serving you and Wikipedia in any way I can. Cheers! Hi Arjun. I said we should discuss before bring in "RACE" in to the article. theoriginal article was about culture and emigration. But th user deeceevoice, dont want to discuss and put his Afrocentric part into the article, I myself as a Tamil feel messed around. And so do others. Why should we as Indians let Africans decide who we are. (Asian2duracell 20:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC))

Still try disussing on the talk page, this is the only way to get anything accomplished here. Please don't edit war either. Cheers! Arjun 21:05, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Washington monument FPC

I've just gotten around to closing the Washington Monument nomination, but I need some more information on which version to promote. You opposed the original image due to the duplicate people. An edit has been created which removes this issue, so I was wondering whether this would change your opinion? Raven4x4x 07:54, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Great Work

Thanks for your work on the Hinduism Portal page. It looks much better! Well done! LeMaster 15:11, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Well thank you! I did some touch ups, I will update the article once a month and the quote every week. The pic will either be monthly or weekly, I am not sure yet. Also I added the "related" portals and added a new background. Cheers and thank you. Arjun 18:35, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Lol...Seadog! I didn't you know you had a name change. All this time I was wondering where you went haha. Nishkid64 20:55, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Re. Your advice...

Hello Arjun. Good work on the Portal:Hinduism! I do have a suggestion: maybe you could create a section to allow other users to help choosing the selected content. You may check Portal:Basque as reference. Regards,--Húsönd 20:58, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I'll think of something to nominate. :-) For the moment I think I have no further tips. The portal looks very well. Maybe you should consider a peer review and then making it a candidate for featured portal. Regards--Húsönd 21:16, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Ok, will do thanks for all the help :). Arjun 21:17, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
