I've replied to your question with some hints at Talk:Rajendra K. Pachauri#Proposed text, the above links are all pretty useful, in terms of article content the important issues are shown in Attribution (which gives a good summary of verifiability policy and no original research policy) and neutral point of view policy, which requires due weight to majority views and doesn't mean equal time for fringe or minority views.
