Armenian Genocide[edit]

It is very nice to see young contributers engaging in serious events. I am also a new contributer and fed up with this issue. In the last two months, I seriously thought of quitting wiki several times just because of that particular page. But it is so important to keep fighting:) Anyway, nice to meet you:) Caglarkoca 06:33, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikidefcon level[edit]

Its not really white it should be only white if mass pages are being delete(ex 100 pages in a minute) and if vandalbot(s) which are bots that are programed to delete pages, are deleting pages please make it white but now it should be level 3 and next time please think about it,Regards. Arnon Chaffin 19:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete this Arnon Chaffin 19:11, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Someone hacking the top notification bar and puting a disgusting image there followed by the main page being deleted, and 3 admins being compromised in 1 week does not justify a one? Are you sure? Considering the situation apears to be under control (at least 1-2 of the admins have regained control over their acount I suggest that we up it to 2, because very high amounts of vandalisim have taken place... 3 admins where hacked and the main page was compromised for cripes sake! Armanalp 19:13, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

p.s: sry accident (the deletion)

Yes I'm sure 100 of pages weren't delete by them 3 people Arnon Chaffin 19:15, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like the problem is solved Arnon Chaffin 19:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moving DEFCON to 1[edit]

Per your edits, concerning the administrators deleting the main page, etc. That doesn't warrant a level 1 warning, but at MOST a level 2 warning. All incidents of administrator misbehavior should be discussed with them first, then be reported to WP:ANI. I am giving you the benefit of WP:AGF, but please don't make a WP:POINT with the DEFCON template. Thanks! Real96 00:25, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The heck? Look sry about raising the defcon 1 notch too high but I think accusing a user of disrupting wikpedia on the grounds of moving the defcon a notch too high is at the very best overreaction. I based my defcon change on the imfo available on the defcon page, and it seemed indeed that there were 'severe' levels of vandalisim so I raised it to 'severe'. I do not know of a guide that specifies what level of vandalisim is suited for what level (exccept the one line texts on the defcons). Armanalp 15:50, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, sorry about the tone of the context. I understand that you are young, but let me give you a quick overview:
5 - low levels of vandalism. Very rare instances of vandalism.
4 - normal vandalism Vandalism occurring at a slow/steady rate.
3 - school vandalism (moderate) - occurs when schoolchildren are vandalizing pages at a steady rate.
2 - sockpuppet vandalism (high) - sockpuppets of banned users vandalizing pages at a fast rate, but don't identify the sockpuppet
1 - very high levels of vandalism - this rating is rare (I put the DEFCON meter with this one time, this is when the database shut down due to slow server issues)
Also, when you change the DEFCON, please sign your name with ~~~~. Thanks. Real96 16:08, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ok, np, thx 4 the info... =) Armanalp 18:20, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense of Devils of Berlin[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Devils of Berlin, by Sam ov the blue sand (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Devils of Berlin provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Devils of Berlin, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:39, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Arcanists[edit]

I have nominated Arcanists, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arcanists. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? ۩ Dracion ۩ ✎ ✉ 15:48, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Statagy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Support for deleting the Category:Anti-Armenianism[edit]

Will you support my arguement for the deletion of the Category:Anti-Armenianism that I put forward on May 1, 2009?

It is very subjective and even racist as it puts every person who questions the Armenian genocide, such as prominent academicians, who are not racist or personally against Armenian people or Armenia as an entity, along with assasins and militants.

Thank you

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. I was wondering if you'd be interested in setting up Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Turkey), based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). Now it's not a contest in itself, it's designed to motivate people to inspire others to improve content and build something which demonstrates the hard work going into the country which is visible. The focus is more on quality improvements but new articles are welcome too. Eventually a Turkish National Contest could be created to fuel it, like Wikipedia:Awaken the Dragon, in which contestants can choose to keep the Amazon vouchers themselves to buy their own books for more articles or put them into book fund to help editors further improve Turkish-related topics by giving them the books they want. It will begin though as purely an improvement drive. If interested, or you think anybody else might be interested, alert them and sign up on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Turkey talk page at the bottom. Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 14:12, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:12, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
