Hello, Arnabrchakrab. I have removed your addition to Motor system, per the discussion at Wikipedia:ENB#Test case. You have put a great deal of work into your sandbox, and I commend you for that, but it's not yet ready as an encyclopedic entry viewable on one of the world's most trafficked websites. I encourage you to discuss this with your professor, as I am concerned that s/he has not adequately prepared students for editing wikipedia, or adequately supervised and reviewed your work to assure it is ready for publication. - Hi, SandyGeorgia. I am posting my work on the motor systems page so that my peers can review the page and help me update the page to the standards of one of the world's most trafficked websites. I do understand your concern and my professor has discussed with our whole class what must go on behind editing a Wikipedia article, but I would just like to ask you for permission to post my content onto the Motor Systems page so that it can be supervised and reviewed, as you suggested. - There is too much wrong there for me to be able to quickly, easily, or even over several days bring it to encyclopedic standards. I am unsure if Looie496 has time to help. The same can be said for most of the writing of your peers, who have dropped content into the project that probably doesn't belong there, but it happens that yours is in an area that I interact with and had previously watchlisted. Please discuss these problems with your professor and have your peers review your sandbox. I'm sorry that this is really your prof's problem and not yours, as you all don't seem to have adequate preparation or supervision, but that article is not ready for Wikipedia (nor are many others from your class). Hi Arna - I agree with Sandy; unfortunately, your work isn't quite ready for main space yet. As Sandy said, your peers can review your sandbox directly - your content doesn't need to be in main space to be reveiwed by other people. I'm sorry if you've received inadequate instruction about applicable Wikipedia policies like WP:MEDRS (which I would encourage you to review.) If your instructor has a problem with your work not being in the main space of the encyclopedia at this point in time, feel free to ask them to contact me - I am a regional ambassador for the US Education Program, and can explain the problem to them, make suggestions to them about how they can improve their instructional design so as to avoid this sort of problem in the future, etc. Thanks, Kevin Gorman (talk) 00:25, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you all for your concern. My peers should be reviewing my article in my sandbox. I will continue to improve my article as much as possible by including more secondary sources. If anyone has any information or would like to help guide me towards an appropriate direction for this topic, then please feel free to reach out to me and do so. It would be much appreciated. Hi guys, I want to go ahead and inform you that I will be posting my topic on the page once more. I have made some changes by putting in some more references that I initially left out in order to clarify the secondary sources. I have also made some changes in the overall structure and tried to make the writing style more encyclopedic. I would like ask that you guys continue to help me improve my article by providing constructive criticism, instead of immediately deleting it. The first edition of The Pulse has been released. The Pulse will be a regular newsletter documenting the goings-on at WPMED, including ongoing collaborations, discussions, articles, and each edition will have a special focus. That newsletter is here.
The newsletter has been sent to the talk pages of WP:MED members bearing the {{User WPMed}} template. To opt-out, please leave a message here or simply remove your name from the mailing list. Because this is the first issue, we are still finding out feet. Things like the layout and content may change in subsequent editions.
