Thanks to Arsonal for starting this effort, I am happy to contribute as much as I can. I just want to put down my thoughts on what the content should be. Feel free to edit as you see fit. The unfortunate thing is that I myself have practically no cite-able sources.

- Terminologies.
- Demographics
  - Centers of population spread.
  - Languages.
  - Culture, cuisine, etc.
  - Religion.

Past
- Origins: waves of immigration from different parts of China to Indonesia, and also from different social classes.
- History of communities in Indonesia, which is correlated with origins, up to the time of Indonesian independence. Can include history of Chinese communities in Indonesia, and Chinese schools.
- History in Indonesia after independence up to the start of Orde Baru.
- History in Indonesia during Orde Baru.
- Recent history, reformasi, deregulations.

- Role in economy.

I'm trying to redistribute certain information on the "past" and "present" into other sections to prevent discourses on history from becoming bloated. I understand it's important to take this group in historical perspective, but we would go on so many tangents, as is common in the literature. Arsonal (talk) 20:11, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
