Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. A user-generated vote is not a reliable source per WP:RS freshacconci talktalk 13:35, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

btoe.com looks like a fun site, but the fact that 28 of its users voted for Alan Moore on a comics poll isn't really up there with the actual awards he's received for his work. Since btoe.com fails WP:RS (it's just the opinion of a small number of people, with no editorial oversight), I'm afraid its polls can't be used as a source for anything on Wikipedia. --McGeddon (talk) 11:28, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, fair enough. I just though that seeing as some of it's polls, such as Best Album On Earth, have earned lots of views and votes, that it could be considered to have some authority. But I guess 28 votes isn't exactly definitive. Maybe some day down the line when it's got several hundred votes....— Preceding unsigned comment added by Arthur127 (talkcontribs) 11:46, 8 February 2012‎
Not really - it'd still just be an anonymous internet poll, and it'd be trivial to stack the votes. If it ever gets to the point where third party sources are writing about how btoe.com users voted someone the Best Something On Earth, then we can acknowledge the weight of that coverage and just quote those third party sources directly. --McGeddon (talk) 15:31, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Pamela Gardiner for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. McGeddon (talk) 16:15, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sgt. Pepper straw poll

[edit]

There is currently a straw poll taking place here. Your input would be appreciated. ~ GabeMc (talk|contribs) 00:12, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
