Landmarks[edit]

Hello, Ashamedant, and welcome to Wikipedia! I see you have been very busy already and I appreciate your efforts. However, I am puzzled by all the changes you have made to "landmarks" categories - such as changing Category:Landmarks in San Diego, California to Category:San Diego Landmark, and creating the new category Category:Riverside Landmark. Was this change discussed anywhere? It seems to be at odds with the way most such categories are done, for example Category:Landmarks in Chicago, Illinois; Category:Landmarks in San Francisco, California; etc. When making such a sweeping change in a long-established category, it really ought to be discussed somewhere and achieve community consensus. For that matter, the word "landmark" in these categories should have a lower-case L and be plural; WP:Categorization says Names of set categories should be plural. Examples: "Writers", "Villages in Poland".

Let me request that you don't create any more of these new categories, or add them to any more articles, until the community has had a chance to discuss it somewhere. I'll try to figure out the best place for that discussion. Thanks! --MelanieN (talk) 15:05, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
