DYK for Visa policy of Azerbaijan[edit]

On 4 June 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Visa policy of Azerbaijan, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in 2017 the British travel magazine Wanderlust rated Azerbaijan's electronic visa as the easiest visa to obtain in the world? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Visa policy of Azerbaijan. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Visa policy of Azerbaijan), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Tiny little fix to your archive box[edit]

Hi! I've just made a tiny fix to the code for your archive box at the top of this page. You used a {{nowrap}} template that spanned two paragraphs (the months of 2023 and the "Archives are sorted..." text), but that causes a linter error. I've replaced it with two separate {{nowrap}}s, so that it doesn't cause any errors but doesn't change the appearance. I hope you don't mind! --rchard2scout (talk) 09:15, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Rchard2scout Hiya,
absolutely no problem at all! Thank you!

Edits restored[edit]

Hi there Ash, I have restored my grammar edits on the Homo naledi article as they are non-controversial standard copyedit emendations.

"(W)ent extinct" is awful grammar as no thing 'goes' to extinction as this would imply some agency on the part of the thing in 'moving toward' its own extinction. When you die you will 'become dead' not 'go dead'.

Saying that something is "earlier in time" is redundant as time (or some coordinate term for time) is the only thing in which something can be early - you can't be early in space or early in colour or anything else. By changing it to 'evolution', it not only fixes a common grammatical error but clarifies for the lay reader exactly what kind if time humans were early in (as opposed to, say, 'education').

I hope that clears it up for you. 220.235.72.47 (talk) 02:12, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@220.235.72.47 Hello,
I see your points. "to go extinct" is a very common phrasing within the English speaking world, but I don't necessarily feel strongly about this either way. If you believe it's best for readability then I think it's fine to keep it as you've changed it.
Thanks for reaching out! > Asheiou (they/them • talk) 02:19, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
