[edit]

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of previously published material to our articles as you apparently did to Internet marketing. Please cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:09, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did to Treadmill, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:11, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Twitter. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:20, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Helpme

[edit]

{{helpme}} Regarding changes done by me which have been rejected owing to the reason 'Original Source', all these changes were done based on reliable references and articles regarding the same. Since I didn't know how to edit the references page, I was unable to add references for the same. And regarding 'Internet marketing' the changes done were purely for presentation purposes as I found the article poorly framed. Please help.

Hey Ashwin, I've moved this to the bottom so it can be read better. Regarding your edits, if you do have sources, you do need to include references with them, otherwise it looks like you made up all the information. See Wikipedia:No original research for more information on that policy, and for help with including references with material, please see Wikipedia:Citing sources. As far as your edits to Internet marketing ([1] and [2]), the same thing applies - you have to include references with the material, that point to reliable sources. We call it verifiability - we have to have proof that the information is correct, and sources prove it. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask right here. You won't need the helpme tag again - I'll be watching. Cheers! Fleetflame · whack! whack! · 18:32, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!!

I have recently created a page on a medium enterprise in India called Solus. I am not a part of this company by any manner, but I regularly follow the companies which win entrepreneurial awards. Hence I have created a small page on this company without mentioning any major detail apart from the fact that it has won a few notable awards. I've also tried to reference as much as possible to credible third party sources. More details and references can be added if i am able to contact the company's heads. I'd like to add more such relevant pages of growing companies which seem to be controlling Indian economy Ashwin.sri (talk) 22:36, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again Ashwin. The problem with the article Solus Software and Systems is that the references you did have were not from independent, reliable sources, like I told you. Press releases and companies' websites are not independent, nor are they considered reliable. You need things from newspapers, magazines, etc. - things that prove the company is verifiable. For more specialized information, see our policy on companies' notability. Of course, you are welcome to leave your thoughts regarding the deletion here. Fleetflame · whack! whack! · 20:10, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Solus Software and Systems has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I have attempted to find reliable sources documenting notability for this company, but have only turned up copies of press releases about an "award" given by another firm and announced with a press release. I can't find any reliable source news reports of the award, or any other mention of this company. If some reliable sources exist to establish notability please add them to the article. If not, then this company may not yet be ready for a Wikipedia article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 06:57, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Solus Software and Systems, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Solus Software and Systems. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 15:19, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Commenting on deletion discussion

[edit]

Hi, I notice you just left a comment here. For other people to be most likely to read it, it would be best if you left it here instead. Please also be sure to sign your comments by using 4 tildes (~) at the end of your comment. Thank you! ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 15:31, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 15:32, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest

[edit]

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on RAK Holding, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Delsion23 (talk) 13:49, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
