Request for usurpation[edit]

Hello, Askold. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because another user would like to use it to edit. The changing username guideline allows a username that is not being actively used to be usurped if the user is given an opportunity to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request may be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation. Any objection on your part will prevent usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

  • Hello. I'm sorry but I'd prefer to keep this name by myself. Unfortunately, I currently do not have much time for editing English Wikipedia due to work reasons and therefore I have conctntreted mostly on work in russian division. But right when I have time, I plan to return here, and for reason of uniformity (I have the same username in Russian division) I'd like to have my current username here.     • Hello. This is the usurpation applicant. I'd like you to reconsider your decision. I realize you have the same name in at least three wiki projects and you like it. I have been in the process of migration to a global wiki account (SUL - single user login) for years now, but I cannot complete it because of the remaining projects, including Russian and English Wikipedia. Let me quote from my settings at this point: "Global account status: In migration. Your account is active on 35 project sites. Unconfirmed accounts with your name remain on 4 projects." The only way for me to complete the unification and edit English and Russian wiki is if you reconsider your decision. Hi. A proposal on the re-creation of WP:RUSSIA is currently underway at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Russia/Proposal. One of the main points is that we should have workgroups covering different topics. We are trying to ascertain the interest of editors in various workgroups under WP:RUSSIA, such as history, politics, biographical, etc; as your userpage indicates you are Russian or live in Russia, perhaps you can take a read of the proposal, comment on it wherever you have thoughts, and perhaps provide details of any Russian topics you may be interested and are willing to collaborate with other editors on? Wikimedia Stories Project[edit]

Меня зовут Виктор, и я рассказчик с Wikimedia Foundation, некоммерческая организация, которая поддерживает Википедию.
