Conflict of Interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Atlantis7807. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Arushi nishank, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. File:Arushi Nishank.jpg listed for discussion

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Arushi Nishank.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. Replaceable fair use File:Arushi Nishank.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Arushi Nishank.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006. Orphaned non-free image File:Arushi Nishank.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Arushi Nishank.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:26, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Concern regarding Draft:Sparsh Ganga

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Atlantis7807. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Sparsh Ganga, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. Bot0612 (talk) 12:02, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Sparsh Ganga

[edit]

Hello, Atlantis7807. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Sparsh Ganga".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Dolotta (talk) 20:47, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Aarushi Nishak, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Aarushi Nishank requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

@Pppery : I would like to understand that on what basis you nominated the "Aarushi Nishak" Page for speedy deletion? Moreover, If you can help me with the new draft then I can provide you whatever you want (content, citations, & etc). Please help me for the same! Looking foward to your help. Atlantis7807 (talk) 07:57, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The basis is that the community has come to a consensus in September 2021 (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arushi Nishank) that this actress is not notable. And I have no interest in helping you overturn that decision. FYI JBW * Pppery * it has begun... 14:17, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Pppery It's fallacious to claim that Arushi Nishank isn't a notable person here in India. I do have all the necessary and reputed citations with me along with the 100% plagiarism free conntent for the article. I simply don't understand that on basis of what my recent articles are getting nominations for speedy deletion under G4 criteria. The Person is notable, content is unique, category is correct, citations are reputed and are without self-writter or paid published. What else Wikipedia consider in approving an article? And, it sounds so rude of you by saying that you have no interest in helping me for anything. Why??
@JBW I am requesting your community to kindly reconsider the current popularity factors of Aarushi Nishank. Atlantis7807 (talk) 16:16, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I actually said that that the community has come to a consensus [...] that [Arushi Nishank] is not notable. My opinion on her notability is irrelevant (as is yours). Take it to deletion review if you really insist, but I don't think it's likely you'll get anywhere as you are not making any attempt to address the reasons for deletion ("but I'm right and the community was wrong" generally does not fly there). And, finally, saying that I'm not interested in helping you is not rude, as there is no obligation for any specific editor to engage in any specific task. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:51, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I first became aware of this because of a request for speedy deletion of a repost of material deleted as a result of consensus at a deletion discussion. As far as I can tell, Aarushi Nishank may satisfy Wikipedia's notability guidelines, but so far that has not been shown to be the case. Personally, I would not have nominated the original article for deletion, but I see my task as an administrator as being to uphold the decision reached in the deletion discussion, irrespective of my own opinions. As Pppery has said, you can take the article to a deletion review if you think you can show notability. However, I advise you not to do except on the basis of sources which demonstrate notability according to Wikipedia's standards. Also, arguing in a deletion review that the closure of the deletion discussion as "delete" was wrong is unlikely to succeed; your best chance is to try to show that you can now provide evidence of notability which wasn't available to the participants in that discussion. I do not know one way or the other whether you are likely to be able to do that. If you like I can give you a list of all the references which were in the article when the original deletion took place. JBW (talk) 08:35, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Since I posted my message above I have seen that you posted a request for undeletion, in which you said the notification that you received of the speedy deletion nomination "says that the person isn't popular one". I am puzzled by that, as I have carefully read and re-read the message above from Pppery, and it doesn't say anything even remotely like that. Are you referring to some other notification? (Also it would be irrelevant if the notification had said that, as being popular isn't part of Wikipedia's notability guidelines. I'm not expressing a personal opinion on whether it should or shouldn't be, I'm just saying that it isn't.) JBW (talk) 08:49, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Atlantis7807. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:AarushiNishank, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Atlantis7807. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Atlantis7807|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 20:43, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
