Speedy deletion of Farmboy fine arts[edit]

A tag has been placed on Farmboy fine arts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Acroterion (talk) 23:41, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article has been moved from A. Traviss Corry to User:Atravisscorry[edit]

The article you created at A. Traviss Corry is not suitable for a Wikipedia article, which must have a notable subject and be verifiable, but it may be a good start for your own userpage. I have moved it to User:Atravisscorry, which is where you are encouraged to write about yourself. You are free to move it back into the (Main) namespace but bear in mind that if you do so, it is likely to be nominated for deletion.

The purpose of a user page is to enable active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so you should not consider your user page to be a personal homepage. Content unrelated to Wikipedia or its editing may be removed.

Please see the user page guidelines, especially this section for more information. --Eastmain (talk) 00:32, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Todd Towers. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. - Adolphus79 (talk) 17:02, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A. Traviss CorryUser:Atravisscorry — This article, written by Mr. Corry, is an autobiography, and Wikipedia frowns upon autobiographies. Also, Mr. Corry has not proved in the article text that he meets the guidelines about who is a famous creative professional. Cheers, Shoepuppet (talk) 18:43, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Why waste the time? The user has been warned over a two year period that this is not an appropriate use of Wikipedia. Just go for speedy deletion. Skinsmoke (talk) 18:19, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User page with article space templates and categories[edit]

I decategorized your user page, as it does not belong in article space categories. I did this by adding a colon to the front of the categories, like this [[:Category:Artists from British Columbia]]. If you move it back to article space, you simple have to remove the leading colons. I deactivated the templates by placing nowiki tags around them. Again, if you move it back to user space you can simply remove the nowiki tags. --Kleopatra (talk) 22:38, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Plant Encyclopedia[edit]

Hi Traviss, just had a quick look at your Plant Encyclopedia. It is discouraging to see a picture on the main page labelled "Titan arum" that is Rafflesia (and also the statement that the Arum is a single flower; that's true of Rafflesia, not the Arum). Check out Titan arum. Think I'll limit my efforts to Wikipedia, which still has plenty of work remaining. Nadiatalent (talk) 18:59, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Could you please provide any references to publications about your site? Otherwise your article will be deleted. Biophys (talk) 19:44, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Science lovers wanted![edit]

Science lovers wanted!
Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to your participation! Sarah (talk) 01:53, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
