Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! I have been blocked for over two days now. Can an administrator advise me when I will be unblocked and if not, why not. The issues arise as outlined by Rashers. As an inexperienced editor, I reacted to what I believed to be established editor collusion to repeatedly block IP edits with no clear rationale and I was not aware of the strict application of copyright policies even when the owner of the copyright has conveyed no objection. As it happens, there was no actual copyright issue at all as evidenced if you check the page central to the dispute. All that said, I am now aware of the Wikipedia policies and I am asking for the opportunity to have an input as an registered user. A genuine misunderstanding.

June 2013: block

[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for being an obvious sock used for edit warring. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

See talk page of dispute for explanation on edit reverts and apology. Also attempts at dispute resolution. As an IP editor, I was invited by the user Rashers Tierney to establish a Wikipedia user account for the purposes of dialogue and have now done so. If unblocked this account will be the only means of editing I will use as requested.Atticus Maycomb (talk) 21:21, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not my call. Other editors will probably want to have a say, all things considered. RashersTierney (talk) 21:51, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Signing

[edit]

When you post a comment, you need to be logged on. Signing your comment is then very simple, you just use four of these ~ squiggles, which are found above this, # , usually on the right hand side of your keyboard. Doing this also produces a date stamp. No need to type it out. If this isn't clear, just ask. RashersTierney (talk) 16:35, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Rashers. The beginning of a beautiful relationship :-) Atticus Maycomb (talk) 22:30, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen worse starts around here, believe it or not. RashersTierney (talk) 08:46, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
