User talk:Audacity/Welcome

Page contents not supported in other languages.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This template is designed as a more personalized replacement to {{welcome}} and its deviants. It should be used when you notice a good contribution to an article by a user or anonymous editor who has not yet been welcome. To use, first create a page here, copying this template and changing the name and userpage link. Then type

{{subst:<the page you created>
|me=<your username>
|type=<user/anon/userexp)>
|article=<article name>
|topic=<general topic>*
|portal=<portal name>*
|project=<WikiProject name>*
}}

changing the appropriate <variables> (*=optional).

Advocacy?

[edit]

I believe advocating projects is frowned upon in welcome messages. MyNameIsNotBob 02:55, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Then I'd have to say "oops!" I noticed that there are specialized templates used by projects that link to the project. Either way, the real reason I came to comment was the "my talk page" part. The template's source directly links to Audacity's talk page instead of the editor's talk page. I have no idea how to change this correctly, but maybe Audacity does. I guess you'd just replace that with [[User talk:{{{me}}}|my talk page]], but I don't want to mess up the template. — ዮም | (Yom) | TalkcontribsEthiopia 04:50, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Should be fixed (I believe your method works). Thanks! Λυδαcιτγ 07:06, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
