Anastasia Edel

Anastasia Edel (born April, 1972) is a Russian born Social Historian and Author. She has published a book "Putin's Playground" and numerous articles in the New York Times, NY Review of Books, World Literature Today, Foreign Policy and more. She was born in Krasnodar and immigrated to the US in her 20s. She began writing almost two decades ago and has both Fiction and Non-fiction published. Her work relating to Russia and more recently Ukraine has led her to be a guest on CNN, PBS and MSNBC on multiple occasions.

Early Life and Edcucation:

Anastasia was raised in Soviet Russia and much of her work reflects the unique experiences of her childhood. She attended Kubansky State University, was a recipient of the British Government Chevening Award, and moved to England for postgraduate studies. She then received her MFA from Pacific University in 2013.
