Approaches to editing articles

[edit]

First, welcome. Personally, I have found two approaches I prefer: A) Make a series of changes to an article, with an explanation in the Edit summary for each one; or B) copy a section into my sandbox, work on it there, check my changes to text for typos and grammar, check my changes to references, then paste the new content into the article. If I think I might be doing something other editors will disagree with, I also create a new section in the article's Talk, to start a discussion. A few other tips: On your User page, it helps to briefly describe the credentials that you bring to your intent to edit Wikipedia. And before you leap into an article, look at the View history and Talk to see what other editors have been doing. David notMD (talk) 12:37, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
